When I first played the game, it was buggy: there was no game where i crashed and got out. Nevertheless, I decided to give it another try: it was the most creative board game i've ever seen. I enjoyed every mission of the history. I ever cried when
my main's sister died. Who deserved it?
The main flaw: it's short. But it's worth. And it's cheap. And ... more verbs to add coolness? ... It's cool.
It's pretty fun but it crashes every 90 minutes or so. You have to restart from the beginning of a level, which usually means 5-15 minutes of gameplay lost. If the stability can be improved that will make a biiiig difference. I'm borderline on recommending it, but I'll upvote it as a salute to the work that went into this by the developers. The play is fast moving but not rushed. It's thoughtfully engaging. Some randomness but mostly strategy. The different characters have a nicely different "feel" but each can be effective with a smart deck. It's got a good challenge level, not too hard and not too easy, with a loose storyline and some very quick dialogue and scenes between matches. Lots of pop culture references, everything from Star Wars to Game of Thrones.
I would recommend this game. This is a great little time killer for the price. I am hoping they will add some dlc or more to the story line. Keep up the good work.
I have had this on my Wish List since forever. I added the game when it was in Early Access, and then some major studio / money troubles caused production to shut down and go completely dark for a couple of years. Normally I delete games that seem abandoned, but the little I could see of the game from its marketing materials led me to hope that someday, somehow, it would be completed. And I certainly was surprised to see it pop up on sale in this year's Summer Sale. I'm glad I waited. The game is mechanically solid and great fun. The art style and sound effects are top-notch. It has multiple playable classes and a campaign mode. The only thing I dislike is all the meme and reference jokes; this type of humor is difficult to do successfully and I think the game actually would have done much better with some effort made to give it its own fiction. It also has a fair number of typos and grammatically incorrect English, but this is something that can be fixed with professional native-English copyediting. The game is a bargain at its $5 asking price. Highly recommended.
Not exactly as cool as I awaited, but I like playing it and I like the style. I dunno much about the humor, because I skip most dialogues. The parodies (should I write paroDice?) are nice and cute, but there is no reason to "waste" time with reading. No decisions, no nothing. For that my lunchbreak is too short. The system is easy but complex, if you understand how to play. There is a tutorial to teach you the very basics. But then it goes to the details, like building a deck, clicking this and not knowing what it means to click that. A few bugs are still in. From simple glitches: if a minion beats another minion but the beaten minion stays sometimes with 0 health (only optical), to counting bugs: some rare times you roll a 5 and the hero only goes 3 fileds forward only (not stopped by a taunt-minion). You can also meet this bug with the juggernaut card, when the hero rushes forward, even damaging all minions correctly, pushing the enemy backwards correctly, but keeps standing at the opposite field from the intended landing field. Edit: and I have to add some commentless crashes (if you are too good ;) ). Beside that its totally worth playing it compared to the price (3,99 Euro) if you like liittle cute board games.
This is a tough little game. I was happy to see if go into full release. I used to play Culdecept quite a bit on PS2. This game brought back the fun I had with that game. It is a little hectic and a huge learning curve once you get done with the tutorial. All in all, it is a pretty fun game. https://youtu.be/WOZrEtJ46Zc
