Chaos Reborn

Guess I am late to the review here, as I bought this game day one. You see, the original was my most played games ever, I was obsessed with it. This version is (for me) a gaming masterpiece, it retains everything that made the original so addictive, but adds so much more. I still play to this day. It's my desert island game. Gollop is a gaming genius.

man... what a shame. this game looks cool and I think there is some genuinely good game play here. But every single thing and tiny step of the game is so unintuitive. The menus are horrible. There are buttons that say "info" everywhere that show you just the same stats in a bit of a bigger font. But where is all the additional info like special attacks, health bars, etc. etc. etc. ? I'm not saying every hexagonal game has to be Heroes of Might an Magic, but this just feels unnecessarily complicated and obtuse. The battles are not necessarily difficult, just annoying.

It’s pure RNG. There is no skill involved at all. The description in the store tagging it as strategy and tactics based is…misleading to say the least. You have to replay the scenarios until you get lucky. Waste of time.

I do like the music, but the game is way to slow and boring to play.

Wizard Chess! 10 years after release, people are still playing this game. I found it recently and I'm having a blast. Tricky, with some OP moves (looking at you gooey blob and magic bolt), and once one player starts winning it can be hard to catch them. But evenly matched games that go back-and-forth are exciting and fantastically fun, for me. There's even a league! Still active~~

I actually like the concept. Story is reading, which gives depth if you like books and doesn't if you'd rather watch TV. I prefer order and balance because chaos is too RNG to be sensible to me, yet I find myself still losing to them.
