[*]Very smooth gameplay. Think Daggerfall but without the junk. [*]Huge variety of enemies, properly balanced. [*]Multiple game modes. [*]A fantastic variety of builds, strategies and combinations to discover. I unironically kept a notebook near me where I wrote down the results of different ingredient combinations. [*]The rules that apply for you apply for your enemies as well. They have no friendly fire, they can trigger and get hit by traps, stagger as their wide attacks hit the walls, and even run out of mana. [*]Nice environment design, with plenty of variety for the biomes.[/list] [h1]Flaws[/h1] [list][*]The game does lack content. Gold is objectively useless past your initial purchases, and there are no permanent bonuses for you to gradually unlock. The "souls" you collect in each run are useless after the first 2 hours (you use them to unlock other game modes, but that's not much of a hurdle). [*]Devil Spire reminds you of Daggerfall in its gameplay, not so much in the later's fantastic portrait arts and spriteworks. The character portraits in Devil Spire are ugly as sin, and the NPCs aren't much to write home about either. Truly a shame. [*]Regardless of skill, some runs are objectively doomed due to RNG. A bit of control through permanent upgrades would fix that in an instant. [*]Stealth ring is just god mode turned on. It made my descend run (100floor challenge) simply tedious. [*]You will need wikipedia to figure out what some stuff actually does.[/list] [b]Thumbs up for purchase. Despite the distinct lack of spritework titties and some RNG nonsense, the game is highly replayable and very enjoyable.[/b]

It's an atmospheric and fun enough time! Feel grungy and moody. Worth playing if you like dungeon crawlers with a striking aesthetic. Check out the sequel!
