Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 6.57/day in the week to Aug 24 → 10.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The game isn't terrible but it's quite mediocre compared to other titles in the genre. Cutscenes have been a huge downgrade from DMC3 even though this has better graphics. Dante has too many buttons and not enough fingers. Yes the combat system has enough depth to let you juggle enemies in the air for 30 minutes without touching the ground (go see a doctor), but if you can pull those off why are you reading this review.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 12: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Devil May Cry 4 is one of those games whose quality, due to a series of really baffling decisions, is really dependent on the desires of the player. Yes I know you’re probably saying “no ♥♥♥♥, all games are dependent on what the player wants” but let me explain. After the masterpiece that was DMC3 Capcom found themselves needing to make a new DMC game for the upcoming seventh gen console and, bluntly, ran out of resources at around the 60% mark so to make the game long enough to justify a full release the game is basically repeated. You play most of the game twice, once with Dante and once with newcomer Nero. This is where the main problem arises for a lot of people, because most people don’t particularly want to go through the same stage fighting the same enemies twice for a story that’s obviously in need of editing and refining. Nero, intended to be a contrast to Dante, instead landed on just being a whiny teenager who doesn’t want to be there since there wasn’t enough time to refine his personality (it took until DMC5 for that, but boy was it worth it). The plot moves at a breakneck pace and you don’t actually get to see Dante for most of it which rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Add the lack of variety in enemies, bosses and environments and it’s clear why the game didn’t go over super well. Call it a 7/10 and move onto the next release. At least that was the view amongst the general populace looking for a regular action game. See the majority of players play a game once and interface with the mechanics only as deeply as is needed to beat the game. That’s fine, that’s a totally cool way to play videogames. But others realized that despite the heavy recycling the gameplay of DMC4 was deeper than ever. Both Nero and Dante have complex combo systems with sky-high skill ceilings. The special edition made this problem even more pronounced by allowing the usage of 3 new characters each with similarly deep movesets but little new content. Thus the divide became clear: for those looking for an 8 hour linear narrative action game, DMC4 was at best anemic, but for those looking for combat you can get lost in, DMC4 was the place to be. I’m not going to do a deep dive on the gameplay at this stage because others have done better writeups than me on the subject. So here we are, almost 20 years later. That sentiment still holds mostly true, but the game is much cheaper now than on release and doesn’t require a giant machine to run which helps. So I’d recommend DMC4 even to those that don’t intend to do a deep dive. I think a lot of people have softened on the game over time and appreciate it for what it is rather than what it isn’t.

Jedyne co irytuje to upośledzona kamera tożsama z starszymi odsłonami Devil May Cry. Dla kogoś kto miał styczność z serią i polubił którąkolwiek z jej odsłon, serdecznie polecam sprawdzić!
пока самый интереснный геймплей для меня после секиро, жаль миссии и сюжет так же хорошо не проработан как боевка за каждого персонажа
