I never write reviews, but this game deserves it. I grew up in the era of late 90's/early 00's browser logic puzzle games. I have been pining for something that harkens back to those days for over a decade. This game scratched that particular itch in ways I forgot I wanted. The puzzles are difficult in that particular way where you rack your brain for ages and then smack yourself in the head when you figure it out because it was just 1 or 2 more steps than you had been thinking, and it seems so obvious in hindsight. I can't recommend this game enough, it's absolutely fantastic.

Good OST, pretty cool puzzles. There's only a few that I felt were a little odd in design, but for the most part this game plays on a lot of concepts from older eras of computers

I picked this up because it was giving vibes of HypnoSpace Outlaw, and I was not disappointed. Puzzles are very good (and challenging). I love the story too and the way it's told is excellent. 10/10.

Outstanding

A very interesting puzzle game that relies on the in-game computer file system as the main gimmick, Desktop Explorer utilises this system well to craft increasingly difficult and well designed puzzles as the player intuit more of the underlying mechanics, building off of the guidance and solution of previous puzzles. Even so, what ultimately won me over was not the puzzles but the sheer strength of the game's narrative plot, which gets you hooked from the get go and never let it up, complimenting seamlessly with the puzzles in the game to make for a truly immersive experience. The end of the final act left me speechless, just staring at the screen as the credits rolled. Definitely go into it with no spoilers, you'll thank me for it later. Throughout my playthrough, I felt like almost all of the puzzles were fair and well designed (with the exception of 2 which I felt could've used slightly better hinting), though an ingame additional hint/clue system would've been welcome. All in all, an extremely strong title, both for its puzzle mechanic, story, and how both elements interwove seamlessly to make for a complete experience. Highly, highly recommended.
