Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4/day in the week to Jul 21 → 28.4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

256 km² of unrestricted open world, where you can walk or drive trains uninterrupted. Covered in rich vegetation, landscape, water bodies, and an extensive railroad network, the world spans numerous diverse industries and towns. Experience seamless day and night cycles, with dynamic clouds, fog, rain and sounds spicing it all up. Change switches, drive, haul and leave trains at desired locations - the choice is yours.

Advance your career by taking deliveries and earning money. Master efficient driving and look after vehicles to minimize fuel and repair costs. Buy new items and licenses that grant you access to more vehicles and orders. Optionally, you can also play in sandbox mode where economy is not in focus - where you can just have fun doing anything you want without consequences.

Take part in a dynamic industrial chain, where deliveries are procedurally generated for more than 80 cargo types. The output of locations varies, and almost no two deliveries are the same. Haul cargo between industries, or do the shunting and logistics that help the stations create more deliveries. Pick orders and move cargo as desired, according to your own plans, licensing and hauling capacity.

Experience in-depth intricacies of six realistic, accurate steam and diesel locomotive classes with varying transmission types, plus some extra vehicles. Through behavior, sounds, physics and interaction, their characteristics are designed to fully immerse and challenge you. On top of that, you'll find yourself spontaneously involved in coupling, servicing, brake securing, shunting and other railroad procedures.

As a side activity, you may find yourself investing time and money finding and restoring unique locomotive variant derelicts, which you can then customize with numerous useful gadgets. Gadgets are various devices that can improve driving performance, such as digital speedometers, clinometers, colored ambient lights, distance trackers, etc. You can buy them in shops and install them wherever you want, using various tools.

Built from the ground up for both PC and VR, Derail Valley lets you experience it spatially present with the supported mainstream PC VR devices - truly inside the simulator and using your own hands to operate the controls. This is the ultimate, closest experience to being a real railroader! You can seamlessly alternate your progress between the PC and VR sessions, as you prefer.

Be it a derailment, collision, blown traction motor, boiler explosion, brake failure, HAZMAT disaster or even something as mild as wheelslip on a rainy slope, Derail Valley doesn't just present you with a popup screen when you make a mistake - you get to experience the full consequences of your actions, even if they're a rare occurrence.
Whether you are new to trains or an experienced veteran, the game features tutorials that are quick to get you going. A comprehensive user manual also exists, for when you want to dive deep into the details.

Reviews
the physics are just impressing and the game in general is chill

English Derail Valley is a true hidden gem among train simulators. If you enjoy shunting, freight operations, and classic locomotives, this game is absolutely worth your time. Despite its age, the game still looks very appealing in 4K on Ultra settings and runs smoothly on my system without any stuttering. What I really like is that it's not just about driving a train from A to B. You have to learn the railway network, plan your jobs, manage your finances, and think ahead. That gives every job a real sense of purpose and makes the gameplay much deeper than many other train simulators. Another major strength is the track design. The routes are varied and challenging, featuring changing speed limits, tight curves, steep grades, and other demanding sections. When exploring a route for the first time, it's wise to drive carefully and learn its characteristics. If you simply run at full speed everywhere, you'll quickly discover that train handling here is much more realistic than in many other simulators. The Career Manager system is well designed and easy to understand. The controls may seem complex at first, but after a short learning period they become intuitive. Whether you prefer driving from the cab, using the HUD, or controlling the train from external views, the game offers plenty of flexibility. I especially enjoy the ability to switch the camera to individual freight cars. The adjustable difficulty settings make the game enjoyable for both beginners and experienced players. In my opinion, Derail Valley is far superior to Train Sim World when it comes to shunting and freight operations. It truly makes you feel like a locomotive engineer instead of simply following a scripted route. Final verdict: A deep, rewarding, and highly enjoyable train simulator with excellent gameplay depth. Every cent is well spent. A clear recommendation – one of the very best railway simulators I have ever played.
Best train sim out here, the graphic are very nice, the sound is amazing, the difficulty is over the top especally with steam loco, i want to buy a vr headset just for this game 😅 yes the update are slower but they are worth all the wait can't wait for the B100!😁

Feedback after 15 hours from a newcomer to train games I’ve played for around 15 active hours. I’ve never played a train game before, so this feedback comes from a completely new player’s perspective. I’m also a UI/UX developer. The map feels too small After only 10–15 hours, I already feel like I’ve explored most of the map. Constantly revisiting the same locations and routes quickly becomes repetitive. The map should ideally be around four times larger, with more stations, industries, landmarks, hidden locations, and route variety. The world needs to offer a stronger sense of discovery and make longer journeys feel meaningful. The interaction system needs improvement Managing orders, licences, and payments feels unnecessarily awkward. The pocket-payment mechanic is especially confusing. If I’m already holding my pocket, why can’t I interact with the payment terminal directly? The system adds extra actions without adding meaningful gameplay. The order UI requires too much navigation Important information is spread across too many pages. Players constantly have to switch back and forth to check order details. Most relevant information and actions could be consolidated into one or two well-designed screens, including: Route and destination Cargo information Train and wagon requirements Estimated payment and expenses Licence requirements Order acceptance and completion There is almost no meaningful progression The game needs a stronger long-term progression system. Even a simple level and perk system would make completing orders more rewarding. Possible rewards could include: 10% better licence or service discounts 10% higher profits 10% lower fuel consumption Faster or cheaper repairs Access to special contracts Cosmetic rewards for major achievements For example, completing 1,001 orders with one locomotive could unlock a special gold skin for it. Rewards like this would give players something memorable to work towards. The repair system should be more detailed Repairing and maintaining locomotives could be a much deeper and more interesting part of the game. Instead of simply paying for a general repair, the game could include individual components and different types of damage: Engine and transmission wear Brake condition Wheel and suspension damage Electrical problems Cooling-system failures Body and cosmetic damage Preventive maintenance and component replacement Driving style, overloading, overheating, collisions, and skipped maintenance could affect different components. Players could then inspect the locomotive, diagnose problems, replace parts, or choose between quick temporary fixes and full repairs. Final thoughts The core concept is enjoyable, especially for someone completely new to train games. However, a larger world, smoother interactions, better UI structure, deeper repairs, and meaningful progression would significantly improve the experience and give players more reasons to continue playing after the first 10–15 hours.
This game used to work. Now there are a crap ton of bugs that constantly cause the game to crash. Some people have luck messing with really advanced settings, but others don't. The unity bug seems to have no fix in sight anytime soon. There are page4s and pages of complaints on the community hub, yet crickets from the company that made this game. Can't recommend it in this state. maybe there will be a fix in another 2 years. who knows.
