Absolute cinema! It was so good, I enjoyed the gameplay, but the best part of the game was the story. It was so good, I loved the sound design as well,
or lack of in the outer space sections (no sound in space)
. My laptop has ok specs but it isn't a powerhouse. That said some of the sections were pretty choppy (like I would turn and the fps would drop dramatically in some areas) but I pushed through it and finishing the game was so worth it. It was pretty short so I'd say wait for a sale to buy it, but it is definitely a 10/10 for me. They need to turn this into a movie.

Beautiful sci-fi about loneliness, doom, sacrifice and a glimmer of hope. We like a bit of hope every now and then, amirite fellow drifters?
Bella storia.
I already love this game and only started playing it a few hours ago. The sensation of floating around the space station is so cool. There's a subtle drift that constantly keeps you in motion. The views of the regolith from the moonbase are so relaxing, and the ray-traced lighting adds to the whole ambiance. The ASE companion drone is a nice touch, especially how it can travel through vents and into small spaces. Other reviewers have commented on the poor optimization, but the frame rate is pretty consistently high with DLSS "Quality" and the only issue I've noticed is with microstutters when going through doorways. Possibly as a result of shaders not being cached. It really hasn't been a bother for me, and more than acceptable for a smaller production.
The game is stuttery. It refuses to maintain a stable fps, regardless of much I tried to degrade my visual settings. The first thing you notice in game is how awful the movement feels. It's as if the devs programmed the space movement first then figured it would work exactly the same on the ground; so it feels like you're walking on ice 24/7. The space movement is serviceable, but poor in comparison to other games with space movement like the Outer Wilds. The FOV is unchangeable, which was fine at first, but it really really started to make exploration a complete drag, since I had to move my mouse 3 feet to the right just to see that the room was as empty as I was expecting it to be. Moreover, I kept finding myself taking pot shots at the plot as the story unfolded. Before I even hit play, the intro cinematic told me that the energy crisis earth was facing was solved because Helium-3 was on the moon... Implying that they have fusion power technology... Implying that they definitely should not be experiencing an energy crisis. Just to name a concrete example; I though of several of these in my hour of playing the game.
