DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH

This game is a love letter to the folks IRL who work long days delivering packages to people. DS2 begs to be bigger. From underdeveloped mechanics to lackluster QOL options, this game makes up for its issues with a world rich in lore and possibilities. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Hideo Kojima is the George Lucas of video games. He's a capable director with absurdly awesome ideas that can be brought to life...he just needs to let someone else take the reigns when it comes to writing. That doesn't mean I didn't find myself enjoying the characters and what they were saying...sometimes. And it doesn't mean I didn't develop an emotional connection with them either. If there's one thing that Kojima understands, it's delivering a new experience to players who are willing to be patient. Because DS2 is nothing like we've ever seen or played with Kojima's style all over the screen. Hopefully, DS3 gets made and continues the story, but we'll probably have to wait another 20 years for that. Hopefully less. Keep on keeping on.
