Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Sep 8 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
While this game would have you believe this is the original dead rising with a big glow up to its visualise the make up quickly falls apart as you play through the game with many graphical and audio bugs causing the experience to become annoying, never anything game breaking mind, but they the problems stack up to where it becomes too much to ignore and it is especially unforgivable that this game has been out for over a year and these minor issues have not been fixed. Even with those aside, I don't even think the new visuals are that great and I think the older graphics added to the games charm and wacky nature. It's very technically impressive but it likes a style making the presentation bland. Overall if you had to go for this or the OG my go to is deffinetly OG, as again, this game has too many audio and visual annoyances. Even on a sale I still don't think it's worth it's asking price and if the issues haven't been fixed a year later, i cannot see them getting fixed any time soon.

13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Please. Just get the original for 10 dollars or on a sale literally anywhere else and appreciate it like that.
TLDR:DR:
If you are interested in this game but haven't played the original, please play the 2016 port of the game here on Steam first, since it only runs for 10 dollars. Players looking to re-visit Willamette may have fun with the minimal changes, but the difficulty pales in comparison to the original, as well as the voice-acting and censorship being a bunch of odd changes.
Preface
I was not excited for this when it was announced. I knew it wouldn't be up to snuff with what I considered my favorite game in my teenage years, and I ignored it. I felt like the 2016 port invalidated the need for it. However, years passed, and while I originally got this game to mess around with a randomizer system, I won't lie and say that despite all of the missing or worse features, there are a few nice changes that still made me vote with my wallet and buy what I still consider an inferior product. These lists are not complete, but just some of what come to mind.
PROS:
- I actually like the survivor dialogue being fully voiced, and I think that despite my personal gripes with the voice acting, I really did like this nice little touch. - Coming in from Off The Record, the team has added the "damage resistance" to bosses, which mostly incentivizes switching weapons and understanding attacks. - The new books aren't life-changing, but can be really cool and actually may help you try it with several new playstyles. - Survivors do not need to be babysat, and can also point out PP stickers or other objects. - Textures look very good. - You can suspend Infinity Mode! Hooray!
CONS (There's a lot...)
- Zombies on screen are drastically cut. You'll feel this in either the North Plaza or the Maintenance Tunnels. Makes the game painfully easy. - I do not like the voice acting. Some are pretty good, but a lot try and copy the original inflections from their previous actors. - Game is extremely unoptimized and crashes a lot; Putting it to High (8GB) solved this well, but random Infinity Mode crashes are random and will wipe your progress. - The removal of Erotica as a genre, as well as changing Cliff's dialogue to not mention the Vietnam War, are just baffling to me. - Leveling up, especially if you know the things you could do to level up in DR1, make the game so unbelievably easy. For reference, I beat DR1 at level 45 on my first run, after hitting Overtime; I got to level 50 here right around the end of 72 Hour Mode, and that's with me not even using all of the leveling methods at my disposal. - Real Mega Buster lost all of its fire rate. Sad, considering that I went out of my way in both versions for Zombie Genoci- Oh wait, it's called Zombie Annihilator here now, my bad...
IN ALL...
There are times where it can feel like you'll settle for a half-assed remake just to show a company that you're willing to support a new entry. In a way, that was a big sense of why I finally caved in. This is still a fun time, don't get me wrong, but seriously, this is nowhere near as good as the original, so I highly suggest getting that one instead. All I can do is hope that Capcom will eventually give Dead Rising another chance. However, I won't be waiting for it to happen.
I ignored the critiques everyone gave this game and gave it a shot since the original is my favorite game of all time. It was honestly pretty impressive and got me back into the game, but as time goes on, you start to realize how little effort they put into it. I was enjoying it up until the last day where you're waiting for the helicopter, and that's when the game gets super buggy. Cutscenes with no audio, repeated voice lines over and over, same 30-second song loop until you finally reach the helipad, etc. I also reached level 50 before finishing my first playthrough. All of the psychopaths have turned into glorified armored zombies, the balancing is god awful. I tried to play this game at a normal pace and ended up damn near speedrunning it because it's become so easy. There's AI upscaling all over the mall, which is fine if they could do it right, but a lot of the textures are filled with gibberish, like they couldn't bother to run it through the AI a second time to get a clear result.
As somebody who isn't a purist for the original, I think this remake is really well done. Sure it's a bit too easy but a lot of the original game's difficulty was solely from the pure jank of it, so fixing that is still a plus. For me, Dead Rising has always been about having dumb fun killing zombies with whatever you can find anyway so it was never really that serious to begin with. Some of the achievements are also actually doable now compared to the original. One used to require you to play infinity mode for 14 hours straight without turning the game off or going AFK (you would die), and another required you to kill 54,000 zombies in a single playthrough (my first regular playthrough I killed 6,000...). Now Infinity Mode lets you save and fast forward time, and the kill counter carries over into new game plus. The only objective downsides are that some of the new voice work is a bit worse, and there's some pretty unnecessary censorship: They removed the erotic photo category, some small dialogue changes, and renamed some achievements. Nothing major, but it definitely takes away from the game's personality a bit. I'll never understand why modern developers are so scared of offending an audience that wouldn't have even bought the game in the first place, but at least it wasn't super noticeable.
Disappointing drop in quality from the original.
Idk. It's good in some ways, like the improved controls and weapon scaling, but I think the new voice actors are worse than the original ones. It just feels like a completely different game than the OG Dead Rising. Maybe that's what they were going for, but I think it's an inferior way to experience the game. And Frank looks nothing like his 2006 counterpart. Every character looks completely different too, and their line deliveries are mostly terrible. I know the line delivery in the OG was weird too, but it had a certain charm to it, and it made sense most of the time. Kind of like the cutscenes in Devil May Cry, or a bad anime dub. But this game is just not charming and feels soulless. The new voice actor for Brad is the worst offender, completely changing the tone and vibe to his character. There's probably more issues with this game, but those are the ones I could think of off the top of my head.
I think last time I will ever buy a remaster, everything is actually worse than the original, combat, items, dialogue, and bosses. half the time melee attacks miss or don't stun like the original. the shotgun is now a waste of time. I can't recommend this game over the original.
I'm not saying that this is a bad game by any stretch of the imagination as I personally give this game a solid 7 out of ten. but if you was to ask me if you should play this or the og version, I am going to have to say that the original dead rising from 2006 is easily the superior version to play. This is a really good remake of one of my favourite games of all time and I did have a blast playing through this game both on PC and ps5 but at the same time I just found this game to be an easier version of the original game, which for me doesn't make the game feel the same, I actually missed the struggle of the original game. For example, I was already level 10 by the time I actually went up the stairs at the beginning of the game due to the pp you gain from the camera in this game to be an enormous amount compared to the original. The main thing that this game has over the original in my opinion is that the AI survivors are better but not great at the same time. Another issue that this game has is that they seemed to have taken a lot of what made the original game special. For example the crude humour in the og was what helped make DR and Frank stand out compared to other games but for some reason the developers decided that it had to be censored all of a sudden even though this aspect of the game is what helped make dead rising as a franchise and what it is partially known by the fans for having and it honestly scares me if they do remake the later instalments with the idea on what parts they will remove due to crudeness. Overall this is a fun game and great for new people to the series but at the same time if you are new then it would make mores sense to buy the original dead rising game as it is not only a lot cheaper but also just the better game all around, I mean you are able to buy DR1, DR2 and DR2:OTR for less than what it would cost to buy this version of the game ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
