Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic.
Step into the dirt flecked shoes of former outlaw biker Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter trying to find a reason to live in a land surrounded by death. Scavenge through abandoned settlements for equipment to craft valuable items and weapons, or take your chances with other survivors trying to eke out a living through fair trade… or more violent means.

The game can sometimes feel like a slog. If you don't like the story, most cutscenes are skippable so you can breeze to the late game content. I feel like the game shines most when you finally get good guns and an upgraded bike. There are options to change what buttons are displayed, I didn't realize this till like halfway thru the game. I ended up playing with mouse and keyboard and not knowing what buttons to press, skill issue on my part. The things that stick out the most is driving the bike. At the start it is ass, but once you get some upgrades I is quite fun driving around the map. Killing hoards, though for some it may come off as tedious, I found it to be fun. Overall, It is a fun game. The story is alright (I skipped through it so I don't really have a good grasp of it). The action is your standard third person shooter. Highpoints: The driving, the gun play, the zombies. Lowpoints: The slow start, upgrading can take a while.

i have a really weird start with this game, bought it first on the ps4 slim back in the summer of 2020, played it a little but somehow it didnt hook me. then in 2023 have bought it on Steam now obviously much better framrate (ps4 had 30fps) and better visuals but overall same thing couldnt hook me at all. Now in 2026 Summer i have tried it again and this time it worked, this game is a masterpiece and if they dont make a sequel of it, its their loss! Some games just dont hit you at the right time, i had a similar experience with Cyberpunk2077.
Great story line and very enjoyable and fun to play.
