About
Explore the secrets of a mysterious fallen temple and put your Templar faith to the test in Dark Devotion, where no sacrifice is too great in praise of your God. Measure your devotion and your bravery by journeying into deepest darkness for answers to questions that will challenge your very existence.

Dark Devotion features a richly detailed, immersive narrative that unfolds a sombre tale of your Templar religion’s irresistible calling. Every encounter challenges your fortitude, piety, and conviction as you move deeper into your cursed pilgrimage. Spanning four unique worlds, each with their own incredibly detailed environments, you’ll wield dozens of weapons in your quest to discover the Temple’s secret: all the while assailed by dark enemies and devious bosses whose core mission is to destroy your soul and damn you forever.

Throughout Dark Devotion you’ll discover an array of weapons, armors, and relics with which to enhance your character. Each item has its own attributes and statistics, and is customizable with mystical runes. It is essential that you maximize your strengths and adapt your inventory to the enemy you’re facing. Choose wisely...

Dark Devotion is a story of perseverance, dedication, and secrets. Every chest you open, every item you encounter holds another piece of the story: be it a letter, weapon, or clue, all will help you on your quest. Whether you find these secrets amongst the shadows or in the dead hand of another character ...well, that all depends.

In the Temple, Faith is your only recourse against the heathen droves. Defeat them to collect Faith and unlock secret paths, special chests, and more. But remember to use your Faith sparingly. Nothing lasts forever.

The Temple yearns to see you dead. Your survival depends on using the right item at the right time to heal your wounds or dispel a curse. Some of these items can be looted, others are scattered throughout the Temple in secret places. Employ them wisely… your life depends on it.

The eye of your God is ever-watchful. Complete an act of bravery or skill, and your God might bless you. But the Temple is also rife with despair and sickness, ready to destroy those who lack courage and temperance. Learn quickly its ways, or suffer.

Salvation is fleeting, so choose your route wisely. Every world in Dark Devotion offers several different paths. Each one is original, but all are interconnected, and the only commonality they share is that there is no turning back.

Completing your quest requires shrewd interpretation of the secrets shrouded within the Temple. It’s easy to get lost, though this might bring you favor...depending on the secret you uncover. Perhaps the Temple will reveal a hidden altar where one’s story can be saved if one honors the Temple appropriately...or perhaps not.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I don't know why this game hasn't received more attention. It seems the biggest issues is the controls and how you can't remap them, but it was fine for me with keyboard and mouse? Game sessions can be long as the save system is an awkward checkpoint system that doesn't save equipment build. Game has its flaws just as any game has, but I don't know, this game is amazing and should be seen by more people and deserves more love than it has gotten. Definitely for me is one of the best surprise indy hidden gems I have ever found.
A magnificent combination of souls-like 2D gameplay and roguelite elements. The level design is solid and features an interesting system of “curses” and “diseases,” as well as traps everywhere: it doesn't force you to dive headfirst into the adventure, but rather encourages you to proceed with caution, just the way I like it The game creates an oppressive and mysterious world with highly detailed pixel art and excellent lighting that captures the essence of dark fantasy, and the soundtrack perfectly complements its somber tone. Combat is intense and strategic, as it revolves around managing your stamina, which is extremely limited. Therefore, every attack, block, or dodge must be carefully calculated. And mastering the rhythm of combat is key to survival. For me, the boss battles were one of the game’s biggest draws. Many are designed with unique and complex attack patterns. And of course, since they’re usually the highlight of the game, they always offer a great challenge and a sense of satisfaction when you defeat them. In fact, there’s an item that lets you skip bosses you’ve already defeated, and I never felt the urge to use it lol The only thing that really frustrated me about this game is that it has the worst controls I’ve ever seen in a 2D platformer: the default button layout is very awkward, and you can’t change it, since there’s no option to remap the controls in this game. And now that I’ve finished it, I have to get used to the normal controls of a 2D game again lol But even so, I’d say it’s worth it for all the great things it offers and for the good discount. If you’re looking for a tactical challenge and are drawn to a dark and oppressive atmosphere, Dark Devotion could turn out to be a memorable and rewarding game.
This is primarily a roguelike game. The Soulslike and metroidvania elements are just flavor.
Its a great game if you are into dungeon crawling. I will go ahead and highlight some cons 1. The initial controls suck and I mean suck. Tried on numerous occassions to change button binds to no avail. Fortunately, was able to pull a controller configuration from the community. Then I only had to change 2 buttons to get what I needed. 2. The map sucks. If only they drew lines in the map to tell you how many floors, the map would have been awesome. Fortunately, the indication that show you what room you are is equivalent to a row. If you move the player position marker from top to bottom, while taking the marker size, you will accurately predict how many floors there are in a given room 3. You can't back track. Its hard enough that if you die on a room, you loose everything. They made it so its impossible to get back to the spawn area and can't carry good equipment you get in a good run to certain bosses. Pros: 1. Its difficult but slow for you to think before entering a fight 2. It was cheap when I bought it 3. The bosses are well thought out 4. A forge system that allows you to get weapons and consumables. Unfortunately, the armor suck. You have to go on a good run to get good gear. 5. Can be addictive once you know the mechanics Overall, buy it if its cheap. I intend to upload my controller configuration. It should be benefitial to many. cheers
