After some research and viewing the talks, blogs, and vlogs he's done, I made the decision to purchase the game as a way to support the developer. Now you're not going to learn how to center a div or how to properly write a for loop by playing this game, but this game is a testament to what you can build with a solid foundation in HTML, CSS, & JavaScript. Fun Fact : It was built using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Electron. I just wish it was a bit longer and that I've discovered it sooner. If you're interested (Web/Game Dev), the developer creates informative tutorials on YouTube and also has a Discordserver dedicated to Game Dev that you could check out!
I beat in about 3 hours. Good story although I feel a bit let down it was over so quick. Definitely has those Earthbound Vibes. Not close to as in depth or as long as Earthbound, but a nice little play through.

Played a couple of hours of this game and really liked it. As a developer, the inside jokes and cultural references are really spot-on (although some of them, like the interview process, really made me think). I also like the larger art, although simple, it works well. The battle system is really unique and interesting, and takes a while to get the hang of it. It starts out easy, but gets quite challenging (which I find refreshing). It does have a few things it could improve, but overall, I really liked it. Highly recommend for anyone with a background in software development looking for a "casual"-ish RPG with interesting battles. I planned to buy it on sale, but when I mentioned this on Twitter, the developers gifted me a free copy - really nice guys :) (they also respond to all forums posts, which is excellent!)
That is absolutely marvelous! That vbe is amazing ❤️ Try it!
It put a pretty big smile on my face.
I'd recommend this game if you're a fan of classic 8/16 bit RPGs set in the modern world. Very fun, very charming story with clean, crisp graphics and great atmospheric background music. When you loose a fight you feel like it's due to your own poor planning, not over-whelming imbalance or a chaotic RNG. Comparisons to Earthbound and Pokemon are valid in the best ways. Worth it at full price.
It`s fun!
As a software developer and a life long RPG fan Danger Crew scratched an itch I didn't even know I had! A clever developer themed twist on the classic retro RPG format.
