A retro-inspired 2D Action RPG set in the distant future. CrossCode combines 16-bit SNES-style graphics with butter-smooth physics, a fast-paced combat system, and engaging puzzle mechanics, served with a gripping sci-fi story.

This game is a wonderful experience. The combat is clever and fun, though nothing too groundbreaking. The pixel art is very pretty and well made. The music is juuuuuust good enough to go on my playlist. But where Crosscode really makes its mark is in the story and characters. The very concept of a game that is set within a world that is an MMO to the characters is brilliant enough, but it doesn't end there. Every time you think you know what's going on, this game will drop another bombshell that changes everything about the context of this world and Lea's place in it. (This happened to me like 4 times). You may eventually find yourself losing track of what's part of Crosscode, what's part of the "real world" in the world of Crosscode, and what's part of Crossworlds. Or maybe none of it was ever different at all?... This game is a wild, emotional ride that is meta in an entirely different way than Undertale. 9.5 / 10

Unbelievably excellent game. Very fun gameplay loop, fun story, and really entertaining dialogue. Highly, highly recommend. Can get difficult at times, but with a little grinding, can easily match or exceed boss levels.
Best Game
This is a game that is fantastic for people who are not me. Combat is fast, fluid and always trying to keep you on your toes, but it visually overstimulated the ♥♥♥♥ out of me. Exploration is in depth with platforming puzzles sometimes spanning multiple screens, which I think a lot of people might like. Puzzles are very involved and super demanding, but I bounced off the trigonometry exercise of having to stand in a very narrow range of spots to get a perfect angle for a shot and having to do that under pretty strict timers (you can modify those in the difficulty settings) The backdrop of this being an MMO was intricately crafted down to the quest structure and expansive lore. I very much appreciate what this game does, it just doesn't do it for me
