Its addictive if you like adventure games! I wish it would let me chop down trees and break rocks lol. I cant figure out the air tanks for my scuba. I put them in the filling station but it still says i need to fill them.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I enjoy all of it. Animal Crossing fan originally. This is further improving on the AC experience.
So I liked the game until about 40-50 hours in, it is fun to gather stuff, and do the main quests (most of the sidequests are fetch or gather quests, nothing interesting). I have a few gripes with the game: - The grumpy critters are literal Aholes, rude and harassing. Why would I want to help a critter building a home (why am I the only one who gathers anything btw?) who's constantly cynical and plain rude to me? - There are a lot of backtracking, a critter from the furthest island wants a plastic fish (which is actually an axolotl, just to nitpick), and because cratfing stations are only located on your home island (there is two of the simplest worktables in one of the islands, but nothing else), you'll need to boat back and forth. - The overwhelming amount of wood required. Wood plank requires 2 woods. Softwood plank requires 1 wood plank and 1 resin. Hardwood plank requires 2 softwood planks and 1 resin. Waterproof plank requires 2 hardwood planks and 2 resins. Resin requires either 3 fibers and 1 oil, or 3 woods and 1 oil. So to create one waterproof plank, you'll need 8 wood for the ...well... wood, and 4 resin, aka. 12 wood. So 20 wood in total for 1 plank, and for a building you'll need around 10 planks. The only thing that can be bough from this is the oil. I have around 600 metal, but literally no wood, as I am constantly running behind of building evaryone a home, not to mention to create stuff that needs barrel or crate, which is again -surprise- requires wood. There is not enough wood to farm, even if you run through all the islands, which also takes a lot of downtime. At this point I have almost finished all main quests, I have around more than 20k dubloons, but it is total wothless, as I cannot buy anything remotely useful for the building part (except the oil, but...). So I am leaving the game for now, and I am waiting on an update with more content, and maybe a big rebalance of material usage. Still recommended though, just a caveat. :)
After 14 hours, Critter Cove has completely charmed me. If you enjoy cozy games with exploration, collecting, decorating, and helping a community grow, this is an easy recommendation. The world is colorful and full of personality, and exploring the islands is genuinely rewarding. I loved uncovering new areas, finding treasures, meeting quirky characters, and slowly bringing the town back to life. Decorating and customizing your surroundings is relaxing without feeling overwhelming, and the gameplay has a nice balance between adventure and cozy progression. Like many early access cozy games, there are still a few rough edges, occasional bugs, and some areas that could use more content or polish. However, the developers have built a solid foundation, and the game already offers plenty to enjoy. If you're looking for a relaxing adventure with charming visuals, satisfying exploration, and that "just one more thing to do" feeling, Critter Cove is definitely worth checking out. I'm excited to see how it continues to grow.
super addicting and fun. there's already so much content, but I hope the devs keep going with this one. potential classic
The game is all right. Do I dislike it? No. Do I like it? Sort of. Would I continue to play it in its current state? Not really. But I did have fun, so maybe later? Honestly, though, I'm just going to list what annoyed me the most because that made the strongest impression on me. Since it's still in Early Access, I'm still hopeful, and so far, it looks promising! I'm very impressed! I got a good amount of hours out of it and was quite happy! It started off strong, and I had high expectations because building an island up to become a top tourist destination sounds exciting and like something I would be into. It really was fun. At the start, that is. But the further I got, the more boring everything became, not from a lack of gameplay, but because, honestly, everything looks nice, is colourful and cute, but is sort of... a little boring and empty. The Critters are the most boring creatures ever, with a few different personalities, but they all say the same few lines. The quests they bombard you with are nice for filling up their affection, but that's not worth anything besides giving you a little bit of money and seeing them on the map. It's great that you can create your own Critters. As soon as I could, I turned all my favourite characters into furries!! But they're really just walking decorations. The quests for the various job places that needed stuff actually helped a lot with money issues in the early game, but they turned into the most annoying thing after a while — because, hell no! I don't have time to do this for you right now, and if you give me no choice but to hand my planks over to you, I'll throw you overboard! Those plank-eating houses are eating up all my inventory! No planks for you! I really like it when games get grindy because I play them during my spare time at work to stop myself going crazy from having nothing to do. So, the more hours I can get out of them, the better. Mindlessly acquiring things is the most relaxing thing ever. As long as you have a goal. At the start, I really wanted to make the most of my island, my home and all the creatures. But the decoration and furniture options are so limited! I was really excited about that part, but now I don't even want to continue because getting just a few pieces of furniture in a variety of colours is such a downer. And there aren't that many things you can craft yet! Maybe I was expecting something more like Animal Crossing, where a big part of the fun lies in decorating your space.... This brings me to my biggest complaint so far: the Critters' homes. Why is it even an option to decorate their homes and furnish them? They don't do anything in there except sleep and be sick! Since they're all boring, there'd never be a reason to visit any of them besides giving them the latest piece of junk they requested from the board! Honestly, it would be great if the Slice of Life and Decorations aspects could be given more focus. But that might just be my opinion, as I really enjoy transforming ugly spaces into cute ones, haha! Maybe there will be more tourists, too. 30 people sounds like a lot when there isn't much going on, but once you've put up a Ferris wheel, a carousel and some other attractions, it becomes noticeable that that isn't much, because they suddenly aren't filling the same space anymore. But I mean, it does look like the post-apocalypse. Maybe not many people want to go on holiday just yet. I wouldn't blame them. If you're not following a quest, the gameplay involves driving from your island to point B and back to collect resources, talk to NPCs or retrieve specific items. Honestly, most of the time, the quests aren't much different. The gameplay loop is fine; it's repetitive, but so are most things. It only started bothering me when I felt there was nothing to look forward to. Otherwise, it's a nice grind! There are some upgrade options to make that part quicker, but not by much. The boat doesn't have much speed yet, which makes repeatedly travelling between points the worst part. But at least you can put it on autopilot as long as you're driving in a straight line. So far, I've got my money's worth, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops further! It might or might not become something that hits all my sweet spots. Either way, I've had a good time and I don't regret starting it. Being able to be an owl was an added bonus.
