Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 9 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is extremely hard, yet incredibly satisfying when you manage to save the Union or make the US fall. At first, I barely survived the first years, and even now I have to play on easier difficulties, but I can finally survive until 2000. The only problem is the economy system, as it can still cause a nosedive from nowhere, but the rest of it is really polished and realistic. The best part about it is how much you can change. The paths aren't limited to just preserving the union or collapsing it, but you can also make the USSR a consociationalist capitalist democracy, a totalitarian dictatorship, a reactionary monarchy, or upkeep the status quo - the choice is yours. You can even make your country a soviet monarchy or ascend the throne continuing an ancient bloodline. Overall, this is probably the second best spent 8$ of my life(HoI4 was my best purchase), and this game is one of my favorites. If you think about buying it, simply buy it! You can always refund it, but I doubt you will.

this game is laden with such absurd amounts of potential, but in spite of that may only be enjoyed by masochists and clairvoyants due to the unclear rules of statistics, such as losing loyalty in the SSRs even though the game claims you are gaining relations, tanking GDP in spite of all industrial sectors operating at 100% and labor shortages decreasing (granted forgery is a thing,) or in a case that particularly bothered me, luxury goods being stuck at 20 when i put absurd amounts of resources into importing and increasing the production of it, and it claiming to increase by 8 every month when it doesn't also if you aren't able to resolve or contain certain modifiers in due time, you may never be able to due to constant events begging for spending ridiculous amounts of political authority whether it be a scripted one or too frequently other party members prompting you to retire or exile other members, leading to death spirals where you cannot pass any doctrines, handle any economic modifiers, etc. you probably shouldn't play if you have a job or are otherwise unable to spend a lot of time and energy getting used to the games mechanics, lest you simply have a bad time with the game as it currently is
This has potential as a "watch map evolve" type game, and conceptually I really like this idea. It indeed works out better than the original 1991 game, at least is a bit more historically accurate both at the start and on the course of events (hindsight also helps), minus the factions and the policies associated with them, but still an improvement on the original. The problem is that this thing is broken beyond belief and the developers are hell bent on releasing patches that further break the game, in an insane quest to rebalance out the game into oblivion. None of the Guides help you much, since they are all for previous versions and don't relate to the current status quo of the game. One thing is being hard, or intricate, another is being an UI/UX nightmare with contradicting and unclear rules. At the time of writing, in the previous version (1.1.1.3) I managed to get to 1997 with the Union still working, until all of a sudden and without clear reason both my economy starts burning down and all the members leave after one another. Starting with the new version (1.1.2) no matter what I do, if I make it to the 1990s the now unstoppable US (and I do mean that literally there's no ammount of micromanaging that hurts them at all in this version) will invade me, no matter how strong the army is, how many nukes I got nor how much I've tried to keep things cool. The most fun I had with it, after 20 hours of trying again and again to beat this, was just to install a save editor and artificially boost my save file a few times. Even on Sandbox-mode with all the positive "cheats" on, this thing is utterly broken beyond belief. Devs, it's okay to have an intended way to play a game, you don't have to go insane if someone figured it out, it is okay, really... as it exists currently, this is utterly non-recommendable.
It's a very nice game in many aspects but it's ruined by the "mathcracy" and punishment philosophy this company has. 1. For example events are incredibly extreme, sometimes they just tank 20 variables while mildly improving 1 and that's it. In early game if you have a certain cabinet or starting leader even saying "Ignore" to the americans is enough to make them lower the DEFCON value because the game doesn't even try to read the context and rigidly reads mathematical values and apply random numbers on top of that, it's schizophrenic. There are also an obscene amount of modifiers for every minuscule choice when a "more is less" approach would vastly improve pacing and readability. 2. Your run, without reading guides, will probably randomly end when the game decides you were having too much fun and let your budget explode creating apparently unmotivated death spirals. If you want to make a difficult game, that is based on replayability but isn't annoying or number heavy, and in which you can immediately know why you entered in a death spiral, check Social Democracy by Autumn Chen. Runs here take way too much time to punish the player with a death spiral this big and quick. 3. English has improved but it's still somewhat unclear and unelegant, for the love of God just hire a mother tongue english speaker or a very experienced russian that are interested in this time period and they'll fix the game in a matter of days. 4. Scrap the damn war system, it's genuinely pointless, I can't believe there are people that tried this game and thought it was cool and fun, you should focus on management and politics which are the good stuff IMHO. Having said this I don't want this company to fail, that's why I bought this game full price, but this game just suck and requires standardization, accessibility, slightly less impactful events (positively and negatively) and buffs to political authority.
Why didn't Gorbachev play this a couple of times to figure out how to keep the Union together?
Its as hard and unpredictable as everyone says, but that just makes it even more satisfying when you actually win. This is a phenomenal political simulator that should be in the same conversation as Suzerain, Red Autumn: SPD, and the big hoi4 mods
