I had a couple of years without playing so this one felt like the right time to upgrade. I think this version is excellent, the game feels more balanced- in the short formats most of all - and the player editor is excellent and was a much needed addition
Just as addictive and challenging as when I first played the 06/07 Ashes edition all them years ago! The new interface looks really clean and the editor is a nice addition for the fans who have been asking for it for many years. The names issue is NOT the fault of the developers! They were forced into this situation and it is easily fixed. They need our support now more than ever guys! Would highly recommend for any Cricket fans. Hours of fun and the ONLY good Cricket management sim out there!

This is a game as rubbish as it comes.... have had some great times in the past but this version is the worst of all. The minnows teams bash us haplessely and we can't even get over 130 runs in a t20 game. Select the best superstars in the game and you will still suck. India as the CPU team wins every game, while India is dropping games in real at home. I have bought several versions of this game in the past but never again. Waste of money, should have donated it. Would have helped someone.
Best release in years. Player name fix is easy.
solid improvement on past games. the new ui is great and was a much needed change to refresh the game a bit. player editor is basic but is much appreciated for little tweaks and for quite big changes aswell hopefully in the future it only gets better and more "complicated". overall rating 9.5/10 out of any year to buy this series this is definitely the year i would recommend
Very Avg game
Very good update.
Licencing issues restrict player names and likeness but the in game editor solves this. Check out Facebook page International Cricket Captain Fans (rebooted group) for information on any editing required. Great game.
Prior knowledge of cricket or a saintly amount of patience is strongly recommended. I give it a cautious thumbs-up despite its flaws because there's not really anything like it on the market. Those flaws have been with the game for a while. Unlike similar management games, the player doesn't really get to see "under the hood" of how the players operate within the game engine. No attributes are visible, only statistics, but I can statistics can be manipulated! Player growth and regression are also static - there appears to be little or no regression, and development only happens when players are given specific types of practice time. It makes the game feel less like a dynamic simulation and more like a weighted RNG with some basic cricket animations attached. The new player editor is helpful, but it still only affects ability as a measure of percentage of whatever the player's ability ratings are... which the player cannot see. The career mode is also still a bit light on options compared to similar games. I'm from an ICC Associate Member country and cannot play a career mode as my home country; I have to play a one-off tournament. To play multiple years, I have to pick a test-playing nation, and even some of those don't have a playable domestic structure in-game. Most franchise leagues are at least indirectly represented here, although there will be no dramatic bidding wars at player auctions - just old fashioned free agency that is just as effective in getting the player bogged down in the joys of roster construction like these sorts of sports sims are supposed to. But the beauty of CC arrives in full force, as it always does, in multi-day games. It's so obvious that this is where the game's roots lie because everything in the strategic/off-field layer of the game is most richly rewarded in test cricket and it is *brilliant.* Even when I am frustrated with other parts of the game, that keeps me coming back, and the career mode can be tailored to only play tests, which is like threatening me with ice cream. If you're apprehensive, I recommend waiting for a sale, but for all my frustrations, I've gotten my money's worth from the game and still will for a while to come.
