Ultimately looks better in the videos than it is playing the game. I got it at a discount but still cant recommend it, it just comes up short in the most important aspect - is it fun. It can be fun, but it more often is annoying than fun. Pros: Charming environments. Lots of variety. Visually pretty impressive. Cons: Way to hard, you will die a lot in this one. The camera and the 3D element of the game - you'll often die because the view from the camera hides something or the depth perspective of things make it hard to make jumps land as you want or you end up closer to something dangerous than you thought. Almost everything kills you with one hit which is just annoying. Checkpoints are to few and far between forcing you to replay large sections of the game. Nonsensical enemies - its usually very hard to determine how best to approach an enemy or obstacle in the game. Its not obvious how an enemy can be killed or an obstacle avoided. Things are usually not explained to you either but your just thrown in there and forced to figure it out through trial and error, which could be fine if things were not so inconsistent and weird that it often is.

Soy fan de Crash Bandicoot desde sus orígines y he disfrutado de prácticamente todos sus juegos hasta el punto de terminarlos y completarlos montones de veces. Es por eso que me duele tener que escribir una reseña negativa para esta entrega. Bien sabido es que los Crash Bandicoot son desafiantes y a veces un poco injustos, pero no tan frustrantes como lo llega a ser este. Algunas secciones son demasiado complejas y lleva demasiado ensayo-error habituarse a ellas y tener éxito. Muchos de los coleccionables están demasiado bien escondidos y el diseño de los niveles no es muy intuitivo para encontrarlos. Por último, los desafíos que propone el juego requieren de una precisión milimétrica y solo los más pacientes y que se dediquen en cuerpo y alma al juego podrán completarlos, con lo cual, ni siquiera un veterano en los videojuegos que dedica su hobby a probar otras cosas tendrá una oportunidad.

fun as a casual game don't try to get 100% or 106% it's hell, other than that would recommend the game.
This game was made by people who either didn't play the originals, or got all the wrong lessons and ideas from them. It feels absolutely awful to do any action in this game compared to the original trilogy (run an emulator and you'll find out), the boxes are hidden for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles to ♥♥♥♥ with you, the camera angles are awful, the humor is le marvel ironic sarcasm, everything about this game makes me just want to uninstall it and play the originals.
TfB does not understand the Crash ethos. I appreciate an attempt to go outside the box, and several moments do click successfully. The approach to 100%, collect items, Whedon-like writing, cringy voice acting and lukewarm story beats show a different game than this genre, not even this franchise, should have. Actively frustrating and considering not even finishing at this point.
It's okaaaay. Somehow they managed to take all the fun out of crash bandicoot.
Great game! Beat it and enjoy the journey, but don't bother to do 100% unless you're a masochist! Still, i recommend it!
