Crab Champions is one of those games that looks like a joke until you actually play it, and then you realise it’s secretly one of the most polished, addictive, and surprisingly deep roguelite shooters on Steam. From the moment you start moving, the game shows off its strongest feature: incredibly smooth and responsive movement. Dashing feels instantaneous and essential, gunplay is crisp and satisfying, and every weapon has a distinct weight and rhythm that makes combat feel tight and deliberate. Enemy waves are short, intense bursts of chaos that keep the pace high, and the arena layouts, while simple, are cleverly varied enough to force different movement patterns and strategies. The whole experience feels like a blend of DOOM’s aggression, Risk of Rain 2’s build insanity, and a crab protagonist who seems permanently furious. The weapon selection is small but extremely well‑designed. The assault rifle is reliable and perfect for crit builds, the shotgun melts bosses when paired with the right perks, the dual pistols turn into elemental machine guns, the sniper rewards precision with massive payoff, and the rocket launcher is pure explosive chaos. What makes the arsenal shine is how drastically perks can transform each weapon. A basic shotgun can become a poison‑spreading plague cannon, a crit monster that deletes bosses in seconds, or a knockback powerhouse that sends enemies flying off the map. The synergy potential is enormous, and every run feels different because even familiar weapons behave in new ways depending on your perk rolls. The perk system is the heart of Crab Champions. Every arena gives you a choice of upgrades, and perks fall into categories like damage, utility, defense, and special effects. The real magic is that perks stack aggressively. You can end up with absurd builds like 300 percent crit chance, chain lightning that jumps across entire waves, homing shots that turn every bullet into a guided missile, or ricochet effects that bounce projectiles around the arena like pinballs. The game encourages experimentation, and even “bad” perks can become incredible when combined with the right setup. Runs escalate quickly, and by the late game you often feel like a walking natural disaster. Progression outside of runs is simple but effective. You unlock new weapons, skins, and difficulty modifiers as you play, giving you long‑term goals without overwhelming you with menus or grind. The difficulty curve is fair, with early runs feeling approachable and later ones demanding real skill, awareness, and build knowledge. Bosses are well‑designed, visually distinct, and mechanically interesting, with attack patterns that reward learning and punish sloppy movement. Performance is excellent even on modest hardware, with stable framerates and clean visuals that make the chaos readable. Replayability is where Crab Champions truly excels. Runs are short enough to fit into quick sessions but deep enough to feel meaningful. The combination of fast movement, satisfying gunplay, and wild perk stacking makes it easy to lose hours without noticing. The game has that rare quality where even failed runs feel fun because the core gameplay loop is so smooth and rewarding. It’s also one of the few roguelites where the early game never feels boring, since every run starts fast and ramps up immediately.

very interesting with a lot of replayability with many builds to create, and a very good progression that will go fast probably too early
Excellent coop roguelike. It will be 100% your type if you like your screen full of action and exploding colors. Full content is finished after like 20-40 hours but its definetly worth the price, especially with friends
Pretty fun game, the difficulty options hooks in and the weapon, ability and melee combos gives the creativity to try beat the game as best as possible
This is one of the most peak rogue-likes I've ever played
Crustaceans 🙂
I am a prismatic crab, so respect my opinion. This game kicks ass.
A game that launches in a few seconds and gets you into the action and fury instantly. Noisetorm knows how to make an arcade-type shooter that feels nervous, rewarding and easy to get into. Looking forward to seeing the next updates. Thanks for the good job on this.
