Counter-Strike: Condition Zero

A fun spinoff of the counter trike series. The idea of a story mode for Counter Strike sounds wacky but this one does it pretty well. The levels are varied, quite beautiful and high quality, with a lot of scripted sequences and unique animations - and also a lot of easter eggs. Each one tells its own story and aren't connected in any way. There's even unique equipment you only see here, like a welding tool, deployable mines and a camera to see behind doors and around walls, which add to the tactical feel the game is going for. For some reason the campaign doesn't take you through all the levels, so you're gonna have to select the rest from the World Map option. I felt all levels were very enjoyable, except maybe the ones were you have to fight a "boss" at the end which is just a bullet sponge. It's pretty tedious, but manageable. This one was actually developed by Ritual Entertainment, not Valve - the same guys who made the SiN games and Legacy of Kain. I don't know why that isn't specified on the game's page, even if the studio was disbanded. I think they did a splendid job here. However they weren't pretty happy with their game being named "Deleted Scenes" - understandably so. Highly recommend, especially if you love games like Half Life, as it's in the same vain lol.
