Even if it is still in early stage... it is already worth the money. Attention to detail is awesome. One of my favourite games.
First Cosmoteer iteration was OK. It was silly and it was quick, but it was fun. Later versions have been plagued by issues with the pathfinding. But, new major update, so OK, lets try again. Spoilers: the issues have not been fixed. The current direction of the game, with the possiblity to maintain several hulls and a gameplay that is designed to reward using several hulls, has always had an issue with friendly hulls moving into friendly lines of fire, or friendly hulls getting stuck on each other and going around in circles of death where they cannot stop and cannot extricate from each other. It is incredibly annoying - especially while an enemy is shredding your ships without getting stuck in anything. And it is not only a problem with friendly ships, but it is also friendly NPCs running into and getting stuck on your ships or on stations, or ships running into and getting stuck on stations, astroids, defensive platforms, your own ships if you are not paying attention for a moment. Everytime I try this, I regret buying the game because of pathfinding issues and unnecessary micromanagement. It is a good concept and it has such potential. But the current branch has had this issue for years. It is frustrating. It is not fun.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I love the endless depth of creating the perfect ship; whether it be a single giant monster of a ship that you do everything out of, or creating purpose built ships for each role like fast fighters, mining, missile boat, firepower and so on. Regular updates keep me coming back and pushing my designs to the limit, encouraging me to fine tune the layout, crew, shielding, armour, weapons over and over (this game tickles my tism expertly). Only criticism is that I wish there was more content in the career mode. Having a reason to progress further aside from upgrading your capabilities would be great, such as being able to create permanent outposts within systems. Overall though great game if you enjoy spaceship building and combat <3
lack of AI path finding makes fleets impossibly tedious
Best starship builder I have ever played. Buy it now, and yet more will be added in the future. Updates can be slow, but all the content added is of a top quality.
Review for the game as of February 11th 2026

The Good
- The ship building and progression experience (from basic weapons and armor to advanced thermal systems and shields) - Good variety of weaponry and their respective logistics to try out, for the first hours of gameplay - The crew management system, making it feel like we are a captain deciding who does what in our ship (custom story potential)
Do you have a favorite crew member? Are you going to give them private quarters with a view outside? But what if a pirate gunship shoots that window with a railgun? Or is it behind shields?

The Bad
- Has been in Early Access for more than 3 years already - Extremely repetitive gameplay after you complete the first system and unlock all new components for your ship
The Hope
- The roadmap is looking very good, in my opinion. I look forward to retrying playing this game with the new features being announced Therefore, in spite of the bad, I will still recommend this game 👍
The game is great. But please, guys, find someone to write the music for you. This looping sound instead of music is interfering with the gameplay; it makes it impossible to play. I have to turn on the Faster Than Light OST to play your game, otherwise my ears feel bad.
I have reached Legendary Fame on Vanilla - Default Settings I really loved the Coop Aspect of this game. It was Loads of Fun. The destruction and repairing mechanics of the game are awesome. I highly recommend this game. Issues I Had: Replacing Dead Crew is Abnoxious. If 300 die, you have to sit around a station waiting for transport ships to replenish the people. Takes like an hour. The Automation Flight is Janky AF. They'll get stuck on anything and everything. Or just 180 for no reason at the worst time. And usually spend the majority of the fight trying to get around ship wrecks or astroids. Late game needs to be optimised.
