A poignant narrative-driven game about rejection, belonging and the meaning of home. It follows the story of a newly adopted shelter cat whose space in the home is taken by a copycat. Bring the tissues.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.43/day in the week to Aug 7 → 8.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
⚠️ Copycat touches on sensitive topics such as family trauma, abandonment, and other emotional complexities. If you are going through difficult times, remember that you are not alone. Seek support from friends, family, or a professional. Take care of yourself and play at your own pace.
Copycat is a narrative-driven indie game about a pet who learns to deal with abandonment, and a human forced to surrender. Together, two souls go on a journey to discover the meaning of family and home. The game's colourful visuals delight the senses while exploring dark thematic depths. Journey on an emotional rollercoaster that pulls at the heartstrings and reminds you how it feels to be left behind. 🐾
We follow the tale of Dawn, a sceptical shelter cat who would much rather be in the wild than be readopted again. Dawn actually believes she is a wild cat. And plans on escaping as soon as she gets the chance.
Dawn has second thoughts when she meets new owner Olive, a lonely older Aussie mourning the disappearance of her beloved furry companion. Together Dawn and Olive develop an intimate friendship, as two broken hearts mend one another and learn to beat as one. ❤️
Everything changes when Olive falls ill, and a stray copycat steals Dawn’s place in the home—forcing Dawn onto the streets.
Wander alleyways, fences and rooftops as you learn about the true meaning of home. The reflective pacing of the game allows you the opportunity to indulge in the emotions of love, loneliness and letting go as you progress throughout the story.
Copycat is fully voice acted, featuring hours of dialogue and a talented voice cast. Original music score by Daniel Bunting.

This game is trash. Its story is more than just complete BS. The whole time its sending the message of how wrong it is you get discarded after being adopted and a bunch of horrible things happen due to animal neglect/abandonment. Then it railroads you into the idea that the abandoned pet should go back to its owner but remain a stray because its 'needed'. Needed to watch the owner from a distance, along with another cat the old lady and her adult child abandoned. They found their 'forever home' just hanging around outside. Not being fed or sheltered or made sure they're taken care of. Tl;dr this game normalizes animal neglect and the idea that its okay to abandon your pet when it becomes inconvenient to take care of them or at least find them a good home somewhere else.
This game is heartbreaking (and I hated it) but I really appreciate the developers spreading awareness. I hope it reaches those who have or have ever thought of abandoning their cats (or other animals).

Wtf is this game?? It starts off alright but gets boring really quickly. You get adopted by an old lady and can sympathise with her and her supposedly sad story. You get to run around and explore the environment. But then the game decides to randomly turn into a nature documentary while still pushing and dragging the story along, which imo could've been much shorter to be more enjoyable. Why didn't they just give the cat an inner voice instead of having a third person narrator? The gameplay gets boring and repetitive and just isn't fun at all anymore. The story starts off alright but is just executed badly and makes no sense at all. The old lady tried to replace her old cat, then the old cat comes back and magically she just forgets all about you and keeps treating you like a stray telling you to go away because she can't have two cats in her big house. In fact all the people in this world treat you like sh't. So you're left to live on the streets, still trying to get back to the old lady's house for whatever reason. She finally remembers you after the 5th time and takes you into her car. Instead of bringing you somewhere safe or back to the shelter she got you from she just drops you off in a random forest, like wtf. As you have to desperately beg for her attention you just get to watch her bond with her daughter more and more while you're still being treated like a parasite. At some point the cat wants to commit su'cide. In the end the old finally moves to a retirement home and you and the original cat just stick with her?? (i assume you both live outside bc the retirement house is much much smaller). Like wtf?? I get that there's actually people that will treat animals bad like that, but there's no way everybody is like that, especially as you keep running into pet owners all game. So i don't get the point. The game could have had a much more wholesome twist when someone finally decided to take you in and actually care for you. Throughout the game you're presented with choices, but it doesn't matter what you pick since the story is linear and you're just stuck with the old hag that's about to die anyways and shouldn't even be able to adopt at her age.
⚠️ Mild Spoiler near the end ⚠️ When you play a game and get get annoyed when there's a new chapter and it's still dragging on then you have to give it a thumbs down 👎 I hated most of the game play as it was boring and basically the same loop without adding anything fresh. The "Combat" was annoying. I'd have given it a thumbs up if that old cow Olive & her toxic daughter had pegged it! 😤😡😠
I cried okay, but who didn't? The game is heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. It shows the reality of many many cats out there abandoned and left all alone again and again. Sunrise's emotions felt incredibly realistic, and I think any person before adopting a cat should at least play this game to know how that feels like. Playing this game felt diffrent while owning a identical tabby cat myself, I hugged her real tight tonight, ngl. Also I loved how a drunk neighbour changed himself after getting a dog, his backyard looking cleaner and he seemed happier ;) Love you guys, keep up the good work.
