A poignant narrative-driven game about rejection, belonging and the meaning of home. It follows the story of a newly adopted shelter cat whose space in the home is taken by a copycat. Bring the tissues.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.43/day in the week to Aug 7 → 8.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
⚠️ Copycat touches on sensitive topics such as family trauma, abandonment, and other emotional complexities. If you are going through difficult times, remember that you are not alone. Seek support from friends, family, or a professional. Take care of yourself and play at your own pace.
Copycat is a narrative-driven indie game about a pet who learns to deal with abandonment, and a human forced to surrender. Together, two souls go on a journey to discover the meaning of family and home. The game's colourful visuals delight the senses while exploring dark thematic depths. Journey on an emotional rollercoaster that pulls at the heartstrings and reminds you how it feels to be left behind. 🐾
We follow the tale of Dawn, a sceptical shelter cat who would much rather be in the wild than be readopted again. Dawn actually believes she is a wild cat. And plans on escaping as soon as she gets the chance.
Dawn has second thoughts when she meets new owner Olive, a lonely older Aussie mourning the disappearance of her beloved furry companion. Together Dawn and Olive develop an intimate friendship, as two broken hearts mend one another and learn to beat as one. ❤️
Everything changes when Olive falls ill, and a stray copycat steals Dawn’s place in the home—forcing Dawn onto the streets.
Wander alleyways, fences and rooftops as you learn about the true meaning of home. The reflective pacing of the game allows you the opportunity to indulge in the emotions of love, loneliness and letting go as you progress throughout the story.
Copycat is fully voice acted, featuring hours of dialogue and a talented voice cast. Original music score by Daniel Bunting.

Tears were had. I think the gameplay is very dry; mostly consisting of quick-time events and choices that don't seem to make a difference, pass or fail. A lot of it felt like a chore to get through between the actual meat of this game, which is your Dawn's evolving feelings about herself and her relationship with her owner and home. I really appreciate the maturity this game has with its subject matter. It helped me sort out some of my own feelings about the animals and people in my life; and myself.

Hermoso
⚠️ Mild Spoiler near the end ⚠️ When you play a game and get get annoyed when there's a new chapter and it's still dragging on then you have to give it a thumbs down 👎 I hated most of the game play as it was boring and basically the same loop without adding anything fresh. The "Combat" was annoying. I'd have given it a thumbs up if that old cow Olive & her toxic daughter had pegged it! 😤😡😠
I cried okay, but who didn't? The game is heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. It shows the reality of many many cats out there abandoned and left all alone again and again. Sunrise's emotions felt incredibly realistic, and I think any person before adopting a cat should at least play this game to know how that feels like. Playing this game felt diffrent while owning a identical tabby cat myself, I hugged her real tight tonight, ngl. Also I loved how a drunk neighbour changed himself after getting a dog, his backyard looking cleaner and he seemed happier ;) Love you guys, keep up the good work.
Copycat is just okay. The story and presentation are decent, but it really feels like a game that's mainly for people who already love cats. If you're a cat person, you'll probably connect with it a lot more than I did. If you're not, there isn't much here that stands out. One thing that really annoyed me was that the game didn't let you kill yourself when I tried. I understand why the developers probably made that choice, but it still felt frustrating that the game completely prevented it instead of letting the player make that decision. At this point, I'd only recommend playing Copycat if you really like cats. Otherwise, there are plenty of other story-driven games that are more engaging.
Not very fun to play but the story is very good
This game is trash. Its story is more than just complete BS. The whole time its sending the message of how wrong it is you get discarded after being adopted and a bunch of horrible things happen due to animal neglect/abandonment. Then it railroads you into the idea that the abandoned pet should go back to its owner but remain a stray because its 'needed'. Needed to watch the owner from a distance, along with another cat the old lady and her adult child abandoned. They found their 'forever home' just hanging around outside. Not being fed or sheltered or made sure they're taken care of. Tl;dr this game normalizes animal neglect and the idea that its okay to abandon your pet when it becomes inconvenient to take care of them or at least find them a good home somewhere else.
