Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 2 → 0.29/day in the week after.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Although it is completely right that the best way to enjoy these classic Contra titles nowadays is by using modern emulators, this official collection by Konami is not bad at all. I played all the games included, and beat them all except the Probotector ones (at least for now). There are a few things I had no idea about, which I experienced through this collection: - The Arcade versions of Contra are way harder than the corresponding NES ports - The Japanese version of NES Contra has extra scenes - Contra 3 for the SNES is the hardest of all the games in the collection! Harder even than the Arcade Contras! - There is a Game Boy Contra that I missed out on, which is pretty good! - And there is a nifty e-book included in the collection, with concept art and interviews Thankfully, this collection features save-stating for all games. You can only have one save-state per game, but for me that was enough. Without save-stating, no way I would've beaten all of the games - not even with the Konami Code. Now, if Konami had gone the extra mile with this collection, they would have given us the option to remove hardware slowdowns, which are specially noticeable in the Arcade Contras. More save-state slots per game would've been a good plus as well. But besides that, this collection is pretty ok and playable. That said, why buy this collection when emulators are a better way to play these games? Well, I would say buy the Contra Anniversary Collection on sale (60-80% off) if one or more of the following reasons resonate with you: - For some reason you just don't want to deal with emulators - You want to support the official release - You like achievements - You have a special reason to buy this official version Personally, bought this collection on sale because of reasons 2, 3 and 4. My special reason for wanting to have this collection in my Steam account is: NES Contra was the very first videogame I ever played.
As awesome as it ever was, but very bad sound issues makes it hard to play.
Vas a sudar Sangre!!
Highly recommended for those willing to stick through the barrier of entry of old school games. I've so far managed to 1cc(No Continue clear) 2 out of all the titles in this collection; being Super C and Contra 3 and I've had an amazing time with it. No issues whatsoever with input lag or anything. The ports are a bit barebones, having only one savestate slot per game, very simple CRT/scanline filters, and some games lacking button mapping. Also no online leaderboards which saddens me. But you at least get one replay per game for those, like me, that want to save their runs to replay/rewatch or upload to other platforms. I hope M2 is given the reins to port the rest of the Contra catalogue as this is one collection I would recommend to any old school gamer.
