Great game: tidy progression and lots to offer after you've maxed out your favorite combo. Not afraid to challenge you but not so difficult you need a wiki. It's one of those games that engages you subliminally, drawing you to complete it.

After 100 percenting the game I have decided this game deserves a review and a glowing recommendation. For 10 dollars this game is an absolute gem. I've gotten about 80 hours of solid play out of it. This is not a city builder in the traditional sense like Cities or Simcity. The game has these little one and done runs where you choose two "guilds"(this determines what cards you get among other things) and then your objective is to reach certain score thresholds before each milestone in order to advance. This is where the comboing part of Combolands comes in. Buildings interact with the environment and each other in interesting ways, and you can produce some wacky combinations in order to "combo" and get a high score each round. The gameplay loop is simple but deceptively complex and very satisfying. This has quickly become one of my favorite games to just chill out with after a long day and relax with. The only thing I can really say negatively about this game is that after reaching 100 percent there isn't much to do. You can choose, after winning a run, to continue going in Endless mode to see how far you can go if you like. Ultimately this doesn't have a point(outside of your enjoyment of the game of course). I usually don't care for this kind of mechanic but this game feels like a natural fit for leaderboards/daily runs. Having said all that I am eagerly anticipating whatever happens with this game next. Really hoping for DLC.
This game is awesome! It’s everything I could ask for in a rogue like city builder. I like the progressive difficulty mechanic similar to the ascension system in slay the spire but I wish there was even more progression content— maybe if the devs were to make any improvements (other than the obvious addition of guilds) I would love there to be another 10 levels of difficulty.

Fun incremental/roguelike hybrid game with deckbuilder elements
it's got depth
I'm glad devs add variety of maps and also debuffer for difficulty and flavor wise. It might be a one game and done within 50 hours. But this is a game where you want a light and quick game that make you want to come back and try new run, not the game that ask for your attention and commitment. I dare say it's almost like Slice and Dice, which is very simple, but you can just play it anywhere, no stress, no big set up, just enjoy. If the devs will expand the game (excluding DLC factions potential) I hope they can add more varieties that led every game very unique and push some of less popular to use (yes some card/building is very niche), such as: - weather/disaster effect - enemy faction (unlike bandit) that occupy some area that is not easy to discard/bribe - possibility on expanding than 1 island - lock mechanic/item Anyway congrats on the release game! I will sure comeback to this game as my one fav chill game that easy to boot and chiil.
