Amazing game I would not call it a real simulator But it's a great depiction of a cold war era submarine world. All these huge underwater cruisers and dreadnoughts, waging an invisible but extremely cruel underwater war is breathtaking. Overall, just like the other Killerfish games, this one is simple but deep. Minimum Ui and micromanagement, and there is no need to have masters in "Submarine warfare" The manual will teach you all the basics. The gameplay, however, is very good and streamlined. You get to experience all the key factors of the attack submarine business, without getting bored. Fantastic visuals and sound. Very atmospheric.

Probably the best Sub combat sim out there, extremely tactical, have to really plan the attacks and very realistic!

Cold Waters is not the most realistic submarine simulator out there. It is not the most detailed either. Nor even the one with the best visuals. But it does one thing better than any other: It has found the right spot in between simulation and gameplay. That is its higher virtue, and that is what makes it my preffered submarine simulator to the date. I highly recommend DotMod, which adds surface ships, two campaigns and dozens of submarines and weapons. The good: +Very fun gameplay +A lot of submarines to choose from +Three different dynamic campaigns +Over twenty scenarios +Three diferent timelines with three diferent kinds of tech: 1969, 1984 and 2000 The bad: -Vanilla game doesen't allow for player controlled surface ships -Vanilla game has no anti air weapons to deal with planes or helicopters The meh: +- Remake of the old micropose classic Red Storm Rising +- Set in a "what if" scenario of a theorical WWIII started in the 80's
