Get Epic Mod and sink a ton of ships and hours into this game : )
TLDR; The game designed specifically to waste your time. Without the realism while doing so. In a mission you can't see where or how many enemies are out there, which is fine. You don't even know how many enemies are out there before the mission start, less than good but bearable. The missions don't end when all enemies are destroyed so you have no idea whether you should just quite now or keep searching, is absolutely stupid. Dumb enemies begging to be killed doesn't help.

haha very funny game.... NOT Aritificial difficulty for the sake of not coding more gameplay realism .... did not expect the devs to be THIS stupid..... 1. start scenario 2. get detected as soon as the scenario has loaded 3. get torpedoes fired at you with 100% accuracy as soon as being detected (in other words you start running away as soon as your scenario loads) 4. Torpedoes can detect you 500m above you while in silent mode and no speed at all. 5. Torpedoes don't interfere with each other's sonar pings and just keep plowing to your boat like a moth to a night lamp, and you can hear them from torpedo sonar pings from TENS OF KILOMETERS AWAY.... Game is quite funny if you enjoy getting murdered by crazy AI BS.... So much potential... wasted.
A.I seems to know how to sink you regardless on how good you are at the game, moss torpedoes do nothing now, so kind of pointless having them, when all they do is take up good space for normal torpedoes. You got nothing to shoot down aircraft, yet it's okay for them to drop a torpedo into the water and have you damaged or fully sunk. A.I ships should have limits to how many guns they can shoot at once and not having some sort of free for all sub hunt party! The missions given feel kind of pointless and not fun to play, to bad we can't just pick if we want to play that mission in the campaign or not but nope, you are forced to do that mission!
This game isnt playable. A contact is "found" and then disappears as soon as the battle starts before theres even a chance to analyze its sound signature? Then it has acquired enough info on player sub to fire 8-10 torpedoes at once? Next is the damaged Oscar SSBN that is damaged but still outruns a torpedo.
For the time spent playing this game ive never seen so much RNG with a basic system hay known that line where the subs are or what location the vessel is at NOPE, Want to have fun trying to hunt down a single target only for it to shoot a torpedo out its front and make a 180 and hit. im not sorry this system misses the point of sub-warfare with hay youre the game changer with no support so your fighting 2+ vessels that can magic dodge when youre left trying to do the same getting screwed over. not worth the money
Excellent game, great graphics, it reminded me a lot of one of my favorite games, Red Storm Rising, a classic!
Cold Waters is both fun and challenging to play. I highly recommend it for anyone into cold war era submarine warfare games.
Still one of the best Submarine games available.
