About

“Stand to attention soldiers! We are looking a harsh new reality right down the barrel - the world is a post apocalyptic nightmare, all that’s left of humanity is pockets of survivors and organised military bases like ourselves. We prepared for this situation, the necessary equipment and resources were stockpiled long ago, knowing it was only a matter of 'when' and not 'if'. But we have a plan, an ambitious plan to wipe this zombie scourge from the face of the planet.
The enemy are no longer human, they are no longer your parents, siblings or friends, they are an organism of pure evil that seeks only to spread, mutate and destroy - its foul stench must be eliminated at any cost! We are looking for five volunteers to execute this plan - five soldiers to step up for what is almost certainly a suicide mission; which of you have the bravery and skills to get out there and meet this challenge face to ugly rotting face?"
- General Johnson, CURE HQ.

Its amazing
played the game on lowest graphics with a controller and felt like i was playing an xbox 360 game, this is peak gaming
Warning to anyone planning to spend time on this game, the devs decision to make this game does not involve the player having fun, they remade their previous game on Ue5 to capitalize on their original fans so they would buy the dlc. The entire difficulty of the game is balanced around the bots beating it purely by hip firing the nearest zombie and they don't want you to be better than them. They don't want you to be able to aim your shot with automatic weapons, because it's "important" for "balance" "reasons". They don't want you to be better at killing zombies than your bot counterpart, nor do they want you to be more than the limitations of your class. They do not want your "skills". They want you to do exactly what the bots would do if they were in your place. They do not want to balance the game around players. It doesn't matter how much they lie about it in the discussions, we can clearly see it. they've also stated that "If" they give players the ability to aim their shot in any way, that it will be "balanced", meaning that it will take the same average amount of shots to kill the same zombie, from the same distance, regardless of your accuracy with automatic weapons. Can you: 1.Stay with the team 2.Not wander off on your own to gather scraps 3.Always shoot at the nearest zombie in your field of view without stopping 4.Throw grenades when more than "x" number of zombies are clumped together 5.Not shoot the boss unless you have to 6.Walk from the beginning to the end of the level Then congratulations, you've beaten Left 4 Dead's easy dif... i mean Codename CURE II's singleplayer insane difficulty. You can now rename your steam profile to Bot Number 5. (some people are bragging about this in the discussions btw, i've played with new players who managed to beat insane with them after their first few games) The maps are okay, they could pass for 3/5 star community maps for l4d. However, the way they designed the randomization for the maps is pretty good. They build map pieces in the form of cubes and they are partially randomly generated by connecting them together like a puzzle. Some map parts like the sewers can be pretty bad in coop since many players will go up the stairs to gather loot and be completely cut off from the rest of the team during a horde and die. Now for the zombie spawning system, it's just lazy design, zombies can literally spawn anywhere beyond a few meters from the characters, behind any walls or large items that is considered "out of sight", including in closed off areas that you show your backs to during hordes. In some instances, you can actually see zombies spawn behind items a few meters in front of you. The sleeping zombies you encounter as you walk across the map will respawn in previous maps parts, so any player lagging behind will see zombies appear in front or around them. The enemies, zombies work like regular cheap game zombies, they walk a specific path until they get within a few meters from a character and walk straight towards them. Soldier zombies, bigger health pool, walks slower, and is bigger. The disciple/boss, he works like a witch from l4d but instead of triggering him using light, he's instead triggered with footstep and gun sounds. His abilities? He's a running soldier zombie who occasionally spits at you like the volatiles in Dying light. There's dogs too, they jump around, slam into you and then roll on the ground, the only original enemy so far. If you jump on stuff where zombies can't reach you, the dogs can push you off by slamming into you, pretty funny when it happens. Every weapon that isn't automatic or a pistol is working exactly as you would expect, shotguns are shotgunning and snipers are snipering. The pistols? The devs are telling you that they're designed for when you're down on the ground, not to be used as a secondary weapon when you're caught with no ammo on your main weapon, not for headshotting zombies to conserve ammo. They've been given the permanent overall accuracy that would allow you to kill the exact average amount of zombies that the devs want you to be able to kill from the distance they deem to be "balanced". They do not want you to use them over your main weapon in any other situation. They've specifically made the weapon switch just as long as reloading most primary weapons on purpose. As for the automatic weapons? They're designed for hip firing bots to use, so you have to make do with them having permanent walking hip fire accuracy, even while aiming. If they increase the accuracy at the expense of damage of the extender muzzle, like they said they would to accomodate "Traditional rifle enjoyers", be prepared to need 2-3 shots in the head instead of 1.
If the original game was a love letter to horde shooters, this feels like the honeymoon <3
Game of the Year 10/10
fun and challenging game. i like the new update. looking forward to more content. i would recommend this
Good: I appreciate the QOL changes to the game, ability to single player pause, better hit reg from guns, the improved melee hit regs as well Customization is decent, appreciate the cosmetics available for free Bad: Maps are not well designed, they are basically the same thing (tunnels, or fields) over and over, the fields are fine, but the tunnels turn into a scoot and shoot, which turns old even in a single playthrough The new lack of friendly fire takes away that grittiness the first one had, now when I see someone being jumped I just spray at them without fear Minor nitpick, but the bikini zombies are immersion breaking. I'm not here to jerk off I'm here to fight, and seeing 15 bikini zombies huddled in a underground lab just takes me out
