*THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS* I assumed the reason this game got hated on, was mainly because of how it's a puzzle and not the visual novel game from the previous ones. I purchased knowing it would be different. and indeed its... different. It's I guess.... a choice....??? This game does not need to be $20 for a puzzle game, it could be like... $5 or MAYBE $9.99 I enjoy how there actually is still a story to it, on why we are playing the puzzle in the first place, but the ending kinda doesn't make much sense - the villain doesn't exactly have a good reason that fits with the plot on why he does this, and the game just... ends. Someone needs to tell them to not crank enemy ai puzzle by the max difficulty. It goes excessively fast, and when the computer player literally scans their side for instant choices, it's unfair to the player. It only somewhat makes sense for Emily on adderall. The "hardest" mode might as well just be simply "impossible, go watch on YouTube" because that is what I had to end up doing. I'm not retrying 50+ times from defeating 2 characters for a 1 minute cutscene that doesn't really make much sense. If you don't care about gameplay and only want to watch the characters interaction, save your $20 and watch it on YouTube.

Coming from someone who has played Pokémon Puzzle League, Puzzle Fighter, Tetris Attack, and similar games, I expected this to be challenging, but not nearly as brutal as it is. There are moments where I’m sitting there getting absolutely destroyed by a bot that can fill my screen with combos in ten seconds, while the game expects me to respond perfectly with another wave of garbage already coming five seconds later. I would like to say the game is enjoyable, because I do like the story and I respect the style it is going for, but as a semi-casual player, you still have to sweat your cheeks off just to get past the harder difficulty spikes. At this point, I’m mostly thugging out the games bs because I genuinely want to see the rest of the story, not because the difficulty curve itself feels fun. EDIT: Why is this game under casual when you have to sweat your cheeks off on higher difficulties?
As a class of '09 fan, in short, this game is ass . Absolutely disappointing. I was very excited for this game since the flip side was very mid, and I thought that this would make up for it. First of all, this game feels extremely cheap, and so does the UI . The gameplay itself is bad there's no tutorial at the start, only one in the settings that's poorly written and not helpful whatsoever. Another thing is that this game is adding unnecessary story that, to be honest, I wouldn't even call a story since it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ . I feel like this game has potential if the UI were better, less cheap , and more appealing to look at, and if there were an actual story to this . Overall, 3/10. Awful. Don't buy this unless it's on a big sale.
ts so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass
Contrary to popular belief I actually liked the puzzle game. I hated the hard level in the main campain but other than that it was really fun to me. However playing the weekend at kelly's thing was soooo annoying and I hated everything about it. You'd get like 1 minute at best of a cutscene and then you're back to playing those hard ass puzzles. It honestly gets to a point
Wouldn't recommend. Its just a copy paste of Pokemon Puzzle League. There's no true story either, it just feels as though SNB3 doesn't necessarily like the playerbase and made this ♥♥♥♥ to ward them off.
bought it played 1 hour i am refunding rn what in the actual ♥♥♥♥ is wrong with you sbn3
this MIGHT be the worst adaptation they possibly could've made for the series. this game is genuinely just pure slop and no one asked for this. got me all excited just to play the game for under 10 minutes, read about it a little more, and instantly refund this. we wanted another visual novel, not some tetris adaptation of a mostly read-only game.
As someone who grew up and played PuyoPuyo and Pokemon Puzzle League I can't recommend this game at it's current state. As a beginner the campaign is great to learn and very easy/simple, but for players who are into this niche the campaign is to easy. On the hardest mode possible in campaign and you can still dominate the Bot easily. ( I understand you can't make it impossible to clear as new players may struggle to much, but in other games if you failed to many attempts the Bot would throw the match or make it easier to clear the level). I would love to challenge a Bot to practice more on hardest settings possible but there is no option. Instead you only have the campaign, but due to story reasons (no spoilers) the game will force you to quit out. Really funny and cool at first until you realize that the only challenging practice you can have forces you to restart the game. I hope they do some updates adding more features and maybe even have special pop up fights so we can unlock all the characters as playable in matches. (Ex: Finding mewtwo in pokemon puzzle you had to win to unlock him as a replayable. etc.) Then there is the PVP option but you will need to find friends and join a dedicated discord to play. If no one wants to play that day then this option is void as you can't play against a bot. As gameplay goes I noticed something weird but not sure if its personal experience or if others have noticed. Usually when creating a combo your blocks will be in a temp freeze with no movement to give you time to resolve a garbage block from an opponent. I've had instances where I was ready for the garbage block to fall and needed to move one block over to have it drop a layer or to resolve it. Instead I was met with controls stop moving and instant you lose. Playing this game as aggressive offense seems to be the only option as playing methodical defense will usually get you a game over. I hope they add an icon or some indication your blocks are frozen since it seems to be inconsistent? Now for the good. Kelly's Weekend challenge was probably the best part. Had progressive challenging levels as you continued through her various campaigns. It was a you choose how the progress story adventure with multiple different endings and probably my favorite in the game. The cutscenes, characters, and voice actors all did an amazing job. I hope they continue to work on this game, make adjustments, and add some more features so I can keep playing it even when I am playing solo.
