About

One of 2022’s most acclaimed indies, the Game Awards-nominated Citizen Sleeper is a Tabletop-inspired narrative RPG set on Erlin’s Eye, a ruined space station that is home to thousands of people trying to survive on the edges of an interstellar capitalist society.
You are a sleeper, a digitised human consciousness in an artificial body, owned by a corporation that wants you back. Thrust amongst the unfamiliar and colourful inhabitants of the Eye, you need to build friendships, earn your keep, and navigate the factions of this strange metropolis, if you hope to survive to see the next cycle.

Inspired by Tabletop Roleplaying games, Citizen Sleeper uses Dice, Clocks and Drives to create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world. Each cycle you use the dice you are dealt to choose what to do with your time. Make or break alliances, uncover truths and escape your hunters. Survive and ultimately thrive, one cycle at a time, and sometimes against the clock!

The station plays host to characters from all walks of life, trying to eke out an existence among the stars. Salvagers, engineers, hackers, bartenders, street-food vendors, each has a history which brought them here. You choose which of them you wish to help, and together you will shape your future.

Eventually, you will learn to use your dice to hack into the station’s cloud to access decades of digital data, uncover new areas and unlock secrets. This is your unique power, and with it you can change your future. Corporate secrets, rogue AIs and troves of lost data await those willing to dive into the depths of the station’s networks.

Essen-Arp: to them you are just property, one more asset in a portfolio that stretches across the stars. You are the product of an abusive system, in a universe where humanity’s expansion is marked by exploitation and extraction. Escape the makers of your decaying body, and chart your own path in a richly imagined, deeply relevant sci-fi world which explores ideas of precarity, personhood and freedom.

Citizen Sleeper uses Dice, Clocks and Drives to create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world.

Each cycle you roll your dice. Assign them to vast range of actions available on the station. With every action, choose what, and who, matters to you, shaping the lives of those around you, and ultimately the future of the station.

Clocks track both your actions and the actions of others across the station. From becoming a local at the Overlook Bar to protecting a friend from Yatagan enforcers, clocks allow you to track your own progress and the influence you have on the world around you.

Follow drives not quests, allowing you to pick and choose the stories and activities that matter to you. As you do, you will shape your character's five skills (Engineer, Interface, Endure, Intuit and Engage), unlocking perks and bonuses that reflect and change how you choose to live in this world.

Citizen Sleeper now includes all three post-launch DLC episodes FLUX, REFUGE and PURGE, which expand the game and introduce additional characters and locations to Erlin’s Eye in an exciting new late game storyline.

Reviews
This would have worked great as an animated series -- like Scavengers Reign It has brilliant art work, music, and ambient sound effects. The atmosphere and world-building via the writing are great, a kind of melancholic, spooky cyberpunk But as an actual game, it is repetitive, tedious, and it feels like all you're doing is clicking around a lot to reveal a pre-written story
BACKGROUND: You are the Sleeper, and your choices will impact the world around you. At first glance, Citizen Sleeper is not something I would have picked up. The demo gameplay did not seem like something I would be interested in, but I'm glad I decided to play this because it's so much more than what you see on the Store Page. Citizen Sleeper is one of those unique games where there is no levelling system, no battles, and no one-shot game-over consequences. So what's left? A beautiful story of acceptance, redemption, friendships, and/or salvation. APPEALS: I cannot stress how gorgeous the artwork is. Its unique design and colour palette against the dark background of outer space is stunning. There are no sloppy animations, glitches, freeze frames, or random crashes. Gameplay is seamless. The soundtrack is also wonderful. The story and dialogues are well-thought-out and beautifully written (I've spent so long in this part of the review trying to explain how wonderful the writing is. It's left me speechless. The writers have done exceptionally well in transporting you, the player, into this amazing world. You'll know what I mean when you play this). While the game mechanics are simple and easy to understand, the game is sufficiently challenging without being suffocating or frustrating. For example, you must manage certain resources to effectively play the game. These resources are hard to acquire in the beginning, but the game will provide you with free resources in the beginning to start you off (these free resources will depend on the choices you make in-game and are presented as you play the game, but it's nearly impossible to miss). As you progress, resource management becomes easier, and towards the end-game content, resource management is not the issue; gameplay choices and time management are. So there's a bit of healthy pressure, but the game is not tedious or grindy. The game uses a day-count feature called 'cycles'. It auto-saves frequently at the beginning of each cycle and after key events. The achievement system isn't tedious. You can easily obtain most of the achievements in a single-playthrough. You may need a 2nd playthrough for all the achievements, but subsequent playthrough(s) are hour-long speedruns. CONCERNS ABOUT THE GAME: Honestly, I cannot even call this a 'concern', it's more of a 'heads up' - For single-playthrough achievement hunters, you will have to speedrun the game once or twice to get all the achievements (only because one or two endings require differing choices to be made in-game). This is because there is no manual save option, so you cannot save in different slots. CONCLUSION: Citizen Sleeper is a wonderful gem. The game is well-priced and worth its value. You won't be disappointed picking it up, and if you're hesitating, just grab it on sale and thank me later.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Honestly, a really lovely game, but it may be important to note that calling it a "roleplaying game" is a stretch. There may be a class selection and an upgrade tree that by the end of the game is mostly filled anyways, and branching pathways that seem to converge to a final choice of "stay or leave", but that is the extent of the "roleplaying". Saying that, the design, art, and sound is some of the best ive ever had the pleasure of experiencing and made me replay it just for that. Go into it expecting a branching "choices matter" game that you can replay over and over and youll be dissapointed. If you go into it treating it like a beautfully illustrated interactive book, then you will thouroughly enjoy it like I did. Maybe wait till it goes on sale though
Citizen Sleeper is a quiet but memorable sci-fi RPG about survival, relationships and making difficult choices. The writing and characters are the best part, making the dying space station feel like a real place full of people trying to get by. The dice system is simple and enjoyable but the gameplay can feel repetitive after a while. The art style and atmosphere make up for the simple graphics. It is not a game for everyone but if you enjoy slower, character-focused stories, it is worth your time. P.S.: P.S.: About replayability, the story stays mostly the same, so replaying is mainly about seeing different paths, not a completely different game. The game feels like you're reading a book that is actively being written for you while a live orchestra playing in the back.
Obtained from the "Humble Bundle - 15th anniversary indie icons showcase". I thought I was getting an isometric CRPG in the vein of Disco Elysium, but ended up with a text-based sci-fi story bolted onto a board game. My bad.
Disappointed, the "gameplay" of the dice system and the character stats are really just superfluous to the writing and the story which is... fine? It's okay. The coolest stuff is what is happening with the rogue artificial intelligences but that's not enough for me to put more time into this. You have very little opportunity to characterize yourself, the stories are mostly linear which is funny considering the store description says the game was inspired by ttrpgs. Just meh, not worth the price tag.
My first run was magical. Every choice was final, in a tangible way due to the time limit and I felt pressure even when I'd figured out how to indefinitely sustain myself in the end-game. You don't have all of the time in the world by design, and I actually regret gaming my resources so hard as I'd left a number of sidequests and stories unfinished. This game wants you to make a choice, and to stand by it. This is intentional, and I will not be pursuing a second playthrough. It would cheapen how the first go through made me feel. Good game. Lasted 5 hours, bought this on a severe discount because story based games are very hard to trust. You can trust this one.
Et bien. Quel jeu ...
