Game play loop is more simple than the trailer lets you believe. Ride the train. collect scrap. Meet people that talk but their faces dont move. Do missions. Find scrap chests. Find scrap hidden behind stuff. Repel that main monster. Repeat. Collect achievements. It really is just so simple but quite a testament to a indie 'wild idea' that when you put it together it somehow works well enough to entertain. Not sure if i will bother to really go for the ending but as a quick past time this isn't all that bad (at little under 3 hours i am in end game). Full price may be tad too much for something so simple but on sales definitely worth checking out.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

For a game all about fighting a giant spider-train from Hell, you really don't get to do it a whole lot. Unfortunately, it's never a big deal or stimulating enough when it happens, either. Maybe it's just because monsters don't scare me in horror games, but man, this game is just so boring. I remember the initial trailer for this game being the reason I wanted to give it a try, and it simply did not compare to how the game actually plays. A lot of this game is waiting for the "fun part" (shooting the demon train) while you awkwardly control your own train in a game that literally feels on-rails and restrictive. I only played for a little over an hour, but I really felt every minute of my life rotting away just trying to find any kind of thrill. Upgrades for your train don't feel meaningful or engaging enough to keep you interested in what kind of new stuff you're going to get for it, and even for horror game standards, the train itself is simply not scary enough to feel like something I should be afraid of. It just kind of shows up and attacks you, no compelling elements otherwise other than "shoot it in the face," which I've seen in many other games. If you want an idea of what playing this game is like, watch James Rolfe review Jaws for the Nintendo Entertainment System. If you want a great eldritch horror game where you get to operate a vehicle (one that feels much better to control, I may add), go buy and play Dredge.
Oh my god, this is truly terrifying. You can't even breathe comfortably; it's hard to know when the monster will attack. This is what horror games should be like. The game's creators did an excellent job, living up to the players' expectations.
This game is absolute peak only downside is that there is not that much stuff to do when you finish it. The game also runs kinda well for my pc so its very good.
Thomas went down a dark path indeed. Choo-Choo Charles is a short (couple hours to beat) horror game combining everyones favorite and least favorite thing, Trains and Spiders. And that works. Somehow. The contrast of scary spider with silly train makes for a great horror creature. You drive around in your little train, do some quests, collect some scraps and upgrade your train. Faster, stronger and more durable. Get some more weapons while your at it. Every so often Charles will hunt you down. He isn't playing fair. He does not mind boxing you in and camping you out. Such a horrible creature. The game is fun. A nice combination of horror and silly.
I legit uninstalled the game and refund this game because not even 5 minutes in i set a marker and its IMPOSSIBLE to remove it. So it just got stuck as an X in my peripheral the entire 10 minutes I played and couldn't do it. I tried looking for answers or ways to delete save folder or something. Tons of forums and sites of people asking the same thing and nothing. If the devs have no fix for this, they don't deserve my 2 dollars.

Very short game that doesn't out stay it's welcome. Fun for a single night game, but definitely at a huge discount.
