Run.tv No rewards! I’ve completed as far as I can on the 2 that’s out with NO “chapter” rewards! I do like the digital display BUT I would prefer being able to interact more on my own. Very disappointed that you don’t receive rewards after completing what they have provided for you.

What a Disappointment I’ve been a longtime fan of Pixelberry, and all their games. I started playing High School Story in 2013, and followed it to its conclusion (and even still check in on my school from time to time), as was the same for Hollywood U. I was sad to see them both end, but happy to see Pixelberry continue their storytelling with Choices. I loved it, at first. I loved the uniqueness of every story - the varying art styles, which felt distinct, intentional, and clean. I loved the diversity of characters and love interests, and stories that kept me wanting to start the next chapter right away. Enter AI. What a swift and unfortunate fall from grace it has been to watch Pixelberry integrate this shoddy, second-rate “tool” into their work. The art styles all look homogenous now, and when they do take different artistic directions, they look choppy and unpolished (look to the backgrounds of “Scream for Me” and “At Your Royal Command” if you want some of the more egregious examples), and their characters look uncanny and doughy. Especially those smiles, which look more like they crawled out of the 2022 horror movie rather than an actual person. (If you want a real laugh, look at Be Mine, Valentine, where the main character is rendered in a vastly different - and far more creepy - art style than the other characters, most notably their first date, literally the second character you are introduced to. It is jarring.) It’s unfortunate to see a studio that I have loved and cherished for their commitment to worthwhile and engaging stories take shortcuts that really undermine the quality of their work. I am not pretending that AI isn’t creeping its way into more and more platforms as time goes on, but at the end of the day, the implementation of AI is a CHOICE, and one that I don’t feel is worth paying in Diamonds, Keys, or any other in-game currency. You have a team of immensely talented artists. Utilize the full extent of their skills, rather than shelling out underwhelming content. (And if you intend to respond to this review with the AI article I’ve seen you reply to others with, don’t bother. I’ve read it, and I’m just as unimpressed with that as the recent content. “These tools have helped us lessen our overall workload while allowing us to push our creativity and explore new options to create a better experience for our readers.” I can definitely tell that your workload has been lessened, but can’t believe that your creativity is being pushed, or that you’re creating a better experience for anyone this way. Sentiment is worthless without the quality of content to back it up.) Ultimately, I am still choosing to leave a two-star review because I know the Pixelberry team is capable of more. They just have to choose to not cave to the easy route.

A Heartbreak I have been playing this game since I started college in 2017, and the past few years the app has become butchered. So many stories on here have really meant a lot to me, thats the only reason the app is still on my phone, to revisit what used to be but its hard to see what its become. Almost every story has these ai avatars that turn into a new person every time they change expression in this horrific to watch morphing. I used to admite the backgrounds for several minutes when theres a new one or I see an old favorite, but now I regularly cringe at the slop they put behind the text now. I loved the Crimes Of Passion series but I havent finished the latest release because a lot of it is unpleasent to look at. My favorite was the It Lives Anthology for the art, the details, the clear heart that went into it and when I saw the new ai video story for it I havent been able yo really open or look at the app for months. Like putting aside any moral qualms about ai, its terrible quality. No more new art, these bizarre shiny animations, the awkward flat soulless voice. It was heartbreaking to see one of my favorite stories, one that has had such a deep impact on my own creative indeavors be turned into this terrible stilted lifeless slop. Honestly its been one hell of a decade but I think its time I put my love for this game aside since there is no sign of it ever getting better again.

♡ i really enjoy the new character styles in more recent stories like idol & love and layups. i hope you guys continue to use these styles in future. the options available in the blood bound stories are also nice looking. i would love a new story about being on a reality tv dating show like love island, or at the very least a remaster of america's most eligible. i've always wanted to play those stories but i can't handle how the characters look. i'm not a big fan of the specific set of character faces available in that story and sadly those are the faces available in most of the older stories so i have a hard time playing them. it would be nice to have more remasters of older stories how you guys did TCATF, which is an amazing story by the way. another thing, please change the app icon to something that isn't a couple kissing or whatever. my mom and nieces saw this on my phone and they're like ermmm what's that. i'm 22 but i still feel weird about it lol. or if we could have some different options in game to switch it to like how instagram allows you to pick from a few different color gradients for your app icon. yeah, i like this game i just wish some of the character options in older stories were updated or something.

In-game currency is meh I’ve been playing these “Choices” and “Episode” games on and off for years now, and the cost of diamond/special choices have always been irritating, especially since there’s typically more than one per chapter. It doesn’t help that the game sometimes punishes you for not choosing the expensive option. It’s not even worth spending real money on them either, because 1 choice worth of diamonds is $2. The $15 monthly VIP subscription would be better if it actually gave you full freedom to choose whatever diamond options you wanted. Just halving the diamond costs would significantly improve the fun of the game.

Stop with the AI I used to be a really big fan of the games and the stories but now with the artwork and stories really leaning into AI, it’s super disappointing to see how much they’ve lost their authenticity and charm. Once I actually realized how much AI was being used I went ahead and cancelled my VIP. I understand that there are budgetary constraints but making each story soulless is not the way to handle it. What makes it worse is they have the option to just reuse old artwork and character designs, but they continue to spit out AI slop. They’re fully aware their fanbase hates it and they could not care less. Spend your time and money with a better game.
