Check and Slash combines the action and combat of a hack and slash game with the movement patterns of chess pieces. Find your way through a maze of boards, slash your enemies, dodge attacks, rescue black pieces to receive upgrades and fight against formidable opponents until you find the enemy king.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 25 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Played this when it was in Beta and am really happy to see the release, it's a neat, chill, and possibly slightly addictive +Minimalist art-style +Combines real-time combat with strategic planning +Satisfying game play from the start, and even better once you get the hang of it TL;DR - If you like chess and souls-likes you're also gonna like this!
A super challenging and fun roguelite, and it's even cooler if you love chess.
An interesting mix of chess rules and rogue-like genre with OK fight mechanics. The game, does use Shotgun King buff/nerf card style and has a similar visual style, which is simple, but well within the aesthetics of the game. Gameplay wise, I can’t call this game good or bad, it’s OK, it only took me 4 deaths and just under 100 minutes to beat and get all the achievements, but you should not expect more for that price. There are some minor issues with the game, but it certainly has less bugs that Starfield, but unlike other rogue-likes this game has zero replayability once you complete it as the mazes become tedious and mundane rather than interesting and challenging. For me it just barely scrapes past the ‘recommended’ line because the idea is interesting, but just that interesting. It may look simple at first, but it becomes really challenging as you progress in the game. The graphics are simple, and the achievements are a plus. Recommended for the price and to support the first game of an indie developer
I love how the game gets more challenging bit by bit, and you can even customize it by deciding on buffs and which enemies get tougher. The sound effects and VFX are really good. It's awesome defeating bosses and unlocking new features. Plus, I had a good laugh at the achievement names – pretty sure I caught all the references!
Playthrough here; https://youtu.be/0vzdG2MrILk Overall pretty fun and challenging game it stays pretty consistently hard throughout which makes it quite entertaining as it honestly feels once you cap your damage bonus at 999% the enemies are still strengthening through your upgrades, but you're a bit plateaued so you have to be a bit wary even when you can lay the smack down. I love that the creator made all the achievements obtainable through regular course of play no achievements that are like die a billion times or anything like that so it's easily 100%able as long as you can make it through the game. I'm not much of a chess player, but I love games with roguelike/roguelite elements and ramping damage and this does a good job of implementing those elements while keeping solid balancing.
I played "Check and Slash" and highly recommend it. It's a fun and engaging game. Definitely worth trying!
Difícil na medida certa! Um jogo que mistura elementos de xadrez com roguelite, saber os movimentos das peças de xadrez ajuda bastante para derrotar os inimigos.
A different idea for the chess and roguelite style, very creative!
O jogo é muito divertido, você realmente pode passar horas sem se cansar. Eu mesmo sem ter nenhum background de xadrez e sem ter costume com hack n slash, curti demais e com certeza vou tentar jogar até o fim :)
