Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 28 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

A dying city. A string of suicides. A detective with nothing left to lose.
Netherveil City eats the weak. Its streets bleed neon, its corpses crawl back to life, and its secrets? They'll gnaw through your sanity. Step into the worn boots of Detective Howard. Armed with a rusted badge, a sentient rose that won't shut up, and a pocketful of stolen dice.
Explore the city. Interrogate the dead. Expose the c*rpos.
Investigate. Make choices. Loot the dice. Roll the dice.
And survive. (Optional.)

Dice are oxygen. They keep you alive. Earn 'em, spend 'em, lose 'em. Hoard too long, and opportunities vanish. Roll recklessly, and resources burn.
There’s no perfect build. No power fantasies. Just survival... barely.

Your choices build character. Your character builds choices.
Intelligence picks locks in silence. Virtue pleads for mercy. Foolishness laughs at the abyss.
These fragments clash, corrupt, and rewrite your path mid-conversation. Choose your poison and deal with the consequences.

A hand-shattered art style. Where manga’s precision meets the raw nerve of American comics. Ripping pages from legends like Blame!, Biomega, Akira, and Berserk. Our artistry aims to evoke the same depth and intensity that made these series iconic.

Gear up for an auditory assault. Noir Jazz, Cyberpunk Techno, Death Metal. This isn't background noise. Sonic warfare.

Heroes don't last long in Netherveil. This is a manifesto for the forgotten, the erased, the expendable, those never given a chance. It’s about those who were never meant to survive, yet somehow still do. It’s about the existential terror of being alive in a world ruled by forces you can’t see. It’s about resistance.
“I’m here, and I won’t go quietly.”

never reviewed a game on steam before. CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ENOUGH!! The art is 10/10 the soundtrack is entralling the characters are funny and likeable, well still feeling fleshed out. overall just a masterpiece of Indi development.
An absolute gem for CRPG and TTRPG fans! Celestial Return is a phenomenal indie game that successfully captures the gritty vibes of Cyberpunk 2077, the clever dice-management mechanics of Citizen Sleeper, and the deep internal dialogue of Disco Elysium. All of this is wrapped in a gorgeous art style reminiscent of Mike Mignola’s work and paired with an incredible, atmospheric soundtrack. The narrative is incredibly strong, dark, and delightfully weird. The game features mind-bending timelines that merge and intertwine, constantly making you question what is real and what pieces of the puzzle you might have missed. The dialogue options have real weight, and the characters are wonderfully distinct and memorable. Furthermore, the tabletop-inspired dice system is brilliant—the dice actually feel like meaningful resources tied directly to the world, to the point where you can even use them as currency. While it’s true that the game currently has a few release-week bugs (such as minor resolution issues in 4K fullscreen) and the point-and-click navigation could be enhanced by direct character movement, these flaws pale in comparison to what the game achieves. This is a passionate indie project, not a classic literature masterpiece or an $80 AAA game, but for less than €10, the sheer amount of content and immersion you get is insane. If you love visual novels, cyberpunk aesthetics, noir mysteries, and roleplaying a gritty detective in a bleak future, don't let the harsh reviews fool you.

Amazing piece of art. Really loved the sound design and artworks!
Incredible game! The style, the writing are all amazing. While there are a few rough bumps along the road, the patches are coming fast to fix them. For me it feels to weird fiction genre in a game format (The City & The City comes to mind). The world is incredibly interesting and getting to know it through Howard's eyes is a joy. Seriously, with this price the game is more than worth it.
I thought I'd like this game. There's some good stuff in here, but I came away from it feeling a little frustrated and disappointed. Might give it another play later and see if I change my mind.
not enough wolves for a turkish game....
Hot take: this might be better than Citizen Sleeper 2. Better than Citizen Sleeper 1 or Disco? No, but hey maybe I wanna just see the world burn. It is cyberpunk afterall
I've yet to even finish Book 1 but this game is honestly incredibly beautiful and artistic. It's got this dark and grimy cyberpunk vibe to it with an interesting enough mechanic and a really compelling story to keep you going. It feels a bit like SCP meets cyberpunk2077. The soundtrack is also an incredible plus.
TL;DR: Okay to pick up at a discount if you like narrative games and don't mind a fair amount of jank. I appreciate the art style, music and overall vibe but in the end I didn't really enjoy it that much. I'm still upvoting because I support the effort behind it. The dice mechanic is fine (different dice, passive modifiers, items, etc.), but the game doesn't give you any clear hints on how/when you're going to get more dice, so it's hard to commit to spend them. I think there are too many special dice and not enough regular ones to use in simple tests or for small adjustments. There is no way to force-fail a test without spending a die (so you are punished for being short on dice even if you accept a failure). Additionally, there are situations in which winning/losing a check has no difference in the outcome, which feels stupid, specially when you waste a very limited resource. The setting is cool but the writing falls a bit flat. It tries to be profound too often. Some of the personalities are bland and uninteresting (foolishness in particular). I also locked myself out of some dialogue choices because the game doesn't hint at all about which events will advance the plot (and reset the map) and which won't (the name doesn't always make this immediately evident). Same thing with dialogue choices. If you play I recommend you save often and into many slots, and make sure to visit all map spots. The ending was also disappointing. The pacing is a bit weird with all the cutscenes announcing the name of the "episode" or whatever, sometimes some "episodes" last literally 1 minute. Those cutscenes are also accompanied of weird artsy visuals that don't seem to fit that much. The ui/ux is subpar too; there is a skill point system that is never explained, and I finished the game without knowing what it's meant to do (other than changing the name of your inside voices). I didn't notice any increase in scores nor any unlocked dialogues after upgrading. There's also a tab for body upgrades that I guess is simply for flavor. I also missed a way to auto-sort dice and a way to see your passive modifiers for all skill checks. Finally, there are also a few bugs. The game just locked for me after some choices (repeatedly, after many restarts) and I had to take different ones. Also, one of my saves towards the end just sent me to a different branch I never took when loading it.
