Mickey Mouse returns to star in Castle of Illusion, a fantastical reimagining of the Sega Genesis classic.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
12 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Aug 21 → 2.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Nostalgia hits me whenever I play old games that have been remastered. Back in the day, my father used to get us all the newly released games on summer breaks. Castle of Illusion was one of my favorites back then, playing it constantly with my siblings on Sega Genesis. This reimagining of the game did so well, covering all the stages and even the soundtracks beautifully. I enjoyed every moment of playing it. The story about Mickey and Minnie, who were enjoying a beautiful afternoon in a forest, when a jealous witch named Mizrabel suddenly kidnapped Minnie. Mickey, of course, had to chase after the witch and enter the castle of illusion, where each door would lead him to a different world. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3746855836 The narrative voice did a wonderful job telling the story, it reminds me so much of KQ game and The Cave. Mickey's voice sounded the same as we knew years ago. The soundtracks are beautiful; they were remastered, and they sounded different yet the same as the original. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2246649883 The 3D gameplay, animation, and characters are very well done. The game is more like a platformer side-scroller, but sometimes you move up and down the screen, which changes the perspective. In each stage, you have to collect diamonds to unlock the next set of levels. There are six stages, each with 3 levels, plus a bonus stage where you can collect specific items for an achievement. You can kill enemies by jumping on them or throwing whatever you collect on stage (Apples, marbles, candles). All stages are very well done; some are difficult, and you have to move fast. Highly recommend playing with a controller. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2246651289 Pros: +Nostalgic game. +Beautiful graphics. +Good soundtracks. +Great narrative voice. +Collectibles +Steam achievements. Cons: -Short game It was fun, not VERY easy, kids friendly, and definitely for people who played the original game. I'd like to see more old games being remastered like this. I used to play The Great Circus Mystery, Mickey Mania (my ultimate favorite), and World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. And let me silently wish for Pocahontas game to have a remastered version. 12 on sale3 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 3 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 9: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 12 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

its the game i watched billion times when i was a child and now im adult buying games^^
I played this on steamdeck and it didn't crash. The game was playable. Super easy to get through and reminded me of games of old. Is it worth the price for about 2 hours of game play....eh. I'd wait for it to go on sale. Otherwise, it was a cute little game to play to pass the time.
This game was my childhood, genuinely. Every day I got home from when I was 7-12 I would play this game, and I was GOOD at it. I was so good, I didn't even need guides for the secrets, I LEARNED, how the game devs thought, and I reacted accordingly, keep in mind, I was doing this on my dads old ♥♥♥♥♥♥ KEYBOARD, so I couldn't walk, or throw objects, I just had to pray to god it was good enough, In the end, it was surprisingly enough. In fact, this game kind of defined my taste for a few years, I got into Shovel Knight, Mega Man and Super Meat Boy because of this game. So, to really conclude here, Castle of Illusion is the ultimate test of whether your childhood is still relevant in your everyday life, or, if you're a kid, how far the limits of your childhood can go, It's whimsical, controls ♥♥♥♥♥♥ BRILLIANTLY, and establishes good platforming fundamentals for harder games. Castle of Illusion doesn't really need players, far from it, it's old and worn down now, being 13 years old, but the problem isn't that Castle of Illusion doesn't need you, It's that YOU. NEED. CASTLE OF ILLUSION.
Giving a negative review until game is updated. Keeps crashing on modern hardware. Tried lots of suggestions. At BEST, I can run it at a low resolution. (looks like 1080p) This is a GREAT TITLE. But depending on your hardware, it's unplayable. Crashes the instant you try to access video options. Very unfortunate :( Please fix
