About
Collect awesome monsters to use during turn-based battles in this open-world RPG. Combine any two monster forms using Cassette Beasts’ Fusion System to create unique and powerful new ones!
Welcome to New Wirral, a remote island inhabited by strange creatures you’ve only dreamed of, nightmares you hopefully haven’t, and a cast of brave folks who use cassette tapes to transform for battle. To find a way home you’ll need to explore every inch of the island, and record monsters to your trusty cassette tapes to gain their abilities!

Faced with the constant threat of monster attacks, the residents of Harbourtown, New Wirral choose to fight fire with fire. Record a monster to tape, then play it back to take on its form for battle!

Getting close to your companion has benefits–while transformed you can combine your strengths to gain the upper hand in battle! Any two monster forms can be fused to produce unique, fully-animated new fusion forms.

Certain monster abilities can be used in human form. You’ll need these to help you get around, solve puzzles, and locate dungeons. Glide, fly, swim, climb, dash, or turn magnetic! Take on the Gauntlet – a never-ending battle mode where you’ll face fearsome enemies for precious material and glory!

Never fight alone! Form bonds, spend time together, and help your selected partner complete personal goals to become a better team. The strength of your relationship determines how well you’re able to fuse!

Take advantage of elemental chemistry to apply extra buffs or debuffs alongside your attack, or even alter your opponent’s elemental type!

Team up with a friend in local multiplayer to explore, transform, and fight together!
Party up with Online Multiplayer to trade monster tapes, challenge your friends to 1v1 battles, and team up to take on powerful Rogue Fusion beasts for great rewards!

One of the best capture games ever, please play this Great music Good story Tons of options in your party
I really wanted to like Cassette Beasts. The core idea is great, and it's one of the few monster-catching games that offers co-op, which is a huge plus. Unfortunately, the game has a lot of frustrating design choices that make me want to stop playing. There are many areas, empty houses, and locations that feel like they should contain something interesting, but instead they serve no real purpose. It creates a constant feeling of, "What was the point of putting this here?" Another major annoyance is the monster encounters. Enemies constantly run toward you from every direction, even when you're much higher level, making exploration feel more irritating than rewarding. I also wasn't impressed by most of the monster designs. A handful look really cool, but the majority just don't appeal to me and lack the memorable charm I'd expect from a monster-collecting game. Finally, I found the NPCs to be bland and uninteresting. Their personalities didn't leave much of an impression on me, and I personally felt that some of the writing focused more on modern social messaging than on creating engaging characters and dialogue. Overall, Cassette Beasts has a strong concept and solid co-op support, but too many aspects of its world design, exploration, encounter system, creature designs, and writing kept me from fully enjoying it.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 17 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,502 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
恋愛も出来ちゃうポケモン
ポケモン風ではあるがちゃんと差別化されてる キャラデザもいいしオススメ 次作の発売も決まったのでこれを機に是非!
Le jeu est vraiment très cool
i really quite enjoy this. as my first creature collector outside of pokemon it feels rather fresh and less tedious p.s. beware the glitter, it gets everywhere
it gud.
It's a game
Fun game
Easily the best Pokémon-like game I've played! Actually expands on the format, rather then just copy-pasting the Pokémon formula like so many others (including most of the Pokémon series itself). Might write a more full review later, but thus far it's a simple highly recommend
