About
Collect awesome monsters to use during turn-based battles in this open-world RPG. Combine any two monster forms using Cassette Beasts’ Fusion System to create unique and powerful new ones!
Welcome to New Wirral, a remote island inhabited by strange creatures you’ve only dreamed of, nightmares you hopefully haven’t, and a cast of brave folks who use cassette tapes to transform for battle. To find a way home you’ll need to explore every inch of the island, and record monsters to your trusty cassette tapes to gain their abilities!
Faced with the constant threat of monster attacks, the residents of Harbourtown, New Wirral choose to fight fire with fire. Record a monster to tape, then play it back to take on its form for battle!
Getting close to your companion has benefits–while transformed you can combine your strengths to gain the upper hand in battle! Any two monster forms can be fused to produce unique, fully-animated new fusion forms.
Certain monster abilities can be used in human form. You’ll need these to help you get around, solve puzzles, and locate dungeons. Glide, fly, swim, climb, dash, or turn magnetic! Take on the Gauntlet – a never-ending battle mode where you’ll face fearsome enemies for precious material and glory!

Never fight alone! Form bonds, spend time together, and help your selected partner complete personal goals to become a better team. The strength of your relationship determines how well you’re able to fuse!
Take advantage of elemental chemistry to apply extra buffs or debuffs alongside your attack, or even alter your opponent’s elemental type!
Team up with a friend in local multiplayer to explore, transform, and fight together!
Party up with Online Multiplayer to trade monster tapes, challenge your friends to 1v1 battles, and team up to take on powerful Rogue Fusion beasts for great rewards!

Reviews
A beautifully crafted Pokemon-esque pixel art fighting game with its own charme with more puzzles than I remember from Pokemon (My Pokemon days are like 15 years behind me), so it feels more like a mix of Pokemon (the fighting) and 2D Zelda (The puzzles). All in all the game is good with some flaws. I would recommend not going for all achievements, because the post game content is mostly busy work. The Good: The music is great! If you like it: A lot of social commentary. The story is pretty nice and managed to make me engaged with it. I like the art style and all of the effort that was clearly spent on creating a ton of models for all of the fusion models as well! The nitpicks: At a few points in the map you will have the game having to load more parts of the map, one of these points is within the main city and therefore you will see that pretty much every other time you are doing something in the main city. Its not a long loading time, its more of a nuisance. One of the quest markers for one of the quests is even wrongly placed <.<. Sadly you can easily rest twice at a fireplace without wanting to do so, because you dont get moved out of the fireplace menu after resting. Game was quite clearly made with gamepads being the primary way of interacting with the game, keyboard and mouse only being an afterthought. During the fights against Vic and Frankie, Vic uses the same opening voice line he uses as when he is fighting you 1v1, saying "1 on 1!". The Bad: Since the game has quite a few puzzles, often times your partner is in the way, blocking your movement, blocking items you move, etc.. Really quite obnoxious. The Balancing is quite off in some aspects. Especially the combo of 7x Random Starter + Headshot twice on your starter beasts and then swapping back and forth between them, turning every fight into a breeze even if the level scaling difficulty is set to "impenetrable Grind". A lot of the postgame notice board quests feel like slop (repeated fights with the same enemies (with the same text), stuff like delivering a package to someone (wtf), killing 3-5 fusion monsters in the wild, killing 7-10 of a specific monster somewhere, ...). Some effect animations get a bit tedious, since they arent skipable and they pause the gameplay. It would be better, if they made some of the stuff show in a simplified way at some point or give the player the option of not pausing the gameplay for these animations. Currently this is quite annoying towards the lategame, some of the most annoying examples being when you lose HP during the recording process or effects you deal or get dealt after death. Im on a quest of at least trying every game in my library, of which I got plenty from all kinds of bundles. If you are interested in my journey, check out my other reviews :)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

An absolute classic, a great mix of 2d sprites and a 3d environment. The monster designs are creative and so is the concept of turning into them with cassette tapes. Also very cool character designs, and beautiful music to top it all off.
Casset Beat
Absolutely phenomenal game. Just so amazing to play. Combat is fun and engaging and the creature designs are peak.

unbelievably good game :)
Игра классная, но моментами затянуто и найти песню Морганте в конце было сложно без гайдов на русском.
