I don't like giving early reviews, but I've seen the negative reviews piling up, so I decided to counter a bit. I was a hater of this game myself because I absolutely hated the reused animations that were randomly assigned to random characters. It was just blatant crap, and it earned me my hate. The goal celebrations, emotes, cutscene movements, and some of the music from the first game were also still there. I was thinking of leaving a negative review too. But!! There are no custom characters in this game!!! Thank you, thank you, I'm willing to forgive you anything, just don't give custom characters. That was the bane of the last game, when there were tons of cheaters and broken characters online, the original characters were lost in the this crowd, and we watched a freak show with custom characters. This one will focus on the original characters, and yes, it's awesome! So, those who complain about there being no custom characters can go to hell! In this game are over 100 cool original characters from the franchise. If you're so interested about custom characters, go play The Sims. Regarding the story mode, yes, in the first game it was really big and intense, too much so. Has anyone played all 35 endings? In the first game, everyone was just thinking about how to make their new broken custom character; only a few players were interested in the story. So they did the right thing by removing multiple branching paths. Although, honestly, I would also like to see more variety and play as Rio or La Boca. I tested it online, it works pretty well. Of course, it was a big mistake not to run a beta test; then they would have avoided a lot of technical issues, but I hope they fix it quickly. Regarding the mechanics, it's simply different; you need to get used to it; there are both pros and cons. What I would add: custom teams, so we can play with dream teams. On the other hand, how team specials will work here is unclear... And I would add branching paths, so we can play as Rio and other teams. Oh yeah, and where's the story of Aoi and Inter? Was that the original story of WY? Be sure to add it in the future.
