Good 2D stealth game. Calvino Noir 7/10 Heisen
Calvino Noir is a stylish stealth game with a unique noir atmosphere. The art and story are intriguing, but the gameplay can feel slow and repetitive. Puzzles are basic, and the controls can be a bit clunky. It’s an interesting experience, but not for everyone.
Addictive game!!! I already liked stealth games, but I started to like them more with this game.

Güzel oyun
A great beginner game to get a grip on wsad and learn keyboard & mouse. I just so happen to love black & white movies and noir games so the aesthetic, jazz, rain, thunder/lightening, and voice lines was just a nice added touch
Calvino Noir is a stealth-focused adventure that distinguishes itself through an unforgettable noir aesthetic and a politically charged narrative set in an alternate version of 1930s Europe. Developed and published by Calvino Noir, Ltd., the game drops players into a nation on the verge of collapse, where authoritarian rule, underground resistance movements, and widespread fear dominate everyday life. Rather than emphasizing combat or fast-paced action, the experience is built around patience, calculated decision-making, and remaining unseen. From the opening moments, the game establishes a bleak atmosphere that revolves around secrecy, betrayal, and survival, encouraging players to immerse themselves in a world where every shadow could conceal either refuge or danger. One of the game's defining strengths is its remarkable visual presentation. Every location is rendered with a striking monochrome art style that captures the mood of classic noir films while introducing subtle modern design sensibilities. Harsh lighting, deep shadows, and carefully framed environments create a cinematic quality that makes each chapter feel like an interactive crime thriller. The visual identity is complemented by strong voice performances and a haunting musical score that reinforces the constant feeling of tension. Whether sneaking through abandoned buildings, government facilities, or industrial districts, the world consistently feels oppressive and mysterious, making exploration rewarding even when little dialogue is taking place. The stealth mechanics revolve around avoiding detection instead of eliminating enemies. Players guide multiple protagonists throughout the campaign, each bringing unique skills that contribute to different approaches for overcoming obstacles. Missions often require careful observation of patrol routes, strategic use of darkness, and precise timing to bypass security without raising alarms. Switching between characters introduces an additional layer of tactical planning, as their individual abilities can open new paths or create opportunities that another character could not accomplish alone. The level design supports experimentation by offering alternate routes and encouraging players to think before acting, rewarding those who approach situations methodically instead of relying on trial and error alone. Beyond its stealth gameplay, Calvino Noir attempts to tell a mature and character-driven story that explores the consequences of living under an oppressive regime. Rather than presenting a straightforward conflict between heroes and villains, the narrative focuses on flawed individuals whose motivations are shaped by desperation, loyalty, and personal sacrifice. Political conspiracies, shifting alliances, and moral ambiguity keep the story engaging throughout its three acts, while the dialogue provides enough background to make the setting feel believable. The game's inspirations are evident, drawing from classic noir literature and cinema while incorporating elements of dystopian fiction, yet it still manages to establish a distinctive identity through its setting and storytelling style. Although its atmosphere is consistently impressive, the gameplay occasionally falls short of matching its artistic ambition. Character movement can feel somewhat stiff, and there are moments when enemy detection appears inconsistent, leading to frustrating failures that seem unfair. Certain camera angles may also make precise navigation more difficult than intended, especially during sections that require exact positioning. Players accustomed to the refined mechanics of modern stealth games may notice these rough edges, and the deliberate pacing may not appeal to those looking for a more action-oriented experience. Fortunately, these issues rarely overshadow the game's greatest strengths, but they do prevent it from reaching its full potential. Ultimately, Calvino Noir succeeds as a memorable blend of stealth gameplay, cinematic storytelling, and exceptional visual design. Its commitment to creating a convincing noir atmosphere is evident in every aspect of the presentation, from the dramatic lighting and architecture to the tense soundtrack and layered narrative. While the controls and stealth mechanics occasionally show their limitations, the overall experience remains engaging thanks to its compelling setting, distinctive artistic direction, and thoughtful approach to storytelling. Players who appreciate slower, methodical stealth adventures with a heavy emphasis on mood and narrative will likely find plenty to enjoy, even if the game does not fully refine every gameplay system it introduces.
