Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Even though the developers abandoned the game to work on there other amazing game "Hunter: call of the wild" dosen't mean that the game sucks. now it would be amazing if they could come back and give us some more mouth watering DLC's but they won't. this still dosen't mean the game suck because there's nearly infinite possible oppurtunity's for bigger and better fish. that's why there's legendary fish, fish you have to work hard for to get, AKA grinding the game while still having fun and slowly getting better. once you get about 10000 dollars your well off and pretty good, can get a lot of good stuff but truly, its all about you'r level. either way this an amazing, detailed, beautiful, majestic, and fun game to play. Edit; i suggest trollesport nature reserve for fast leveling. i say atleast be level 10

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 25: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Honestly the game is fun. When you can fish The challenges for exploration (80% of your rep at locations) are boarder line impossible without YouTube unless you want to take 4 hours decoding a scavanger hunt. Even then when you know where you have to be it takes you 10 min because there isn't a mini map, therefore you gotta stop so many times to see if you are on the right road. Not to mention the countless trees you gotta run over to get there. Cuz everyone who wants to play a fishing game absolutely loves off road content to get the best rod in the game Not to mention the Final Challenge in Norway is boarderline impossible. And the times you do hook a gold pike your line snaps even tho the only weak thing on the set up is the reel. I could be at 75% on the tension wheel on a gold pike and it snaps. But like 90% on a Silver pike and I can drag that guy everywhere. Massive glitch before it gets to the dock, Fish gets like whiplash or something. Fix the content HOLYYYYY COWWWWWW.
I've been playing call of the wild games for nearly a decade. I cannot recommend the game because over the past Avalanche has not only left many issues (lack of a full screen mode, any form of upscaling, etc) unaddressed in their older games, but they are now releasing new games which also lack basic features, despite having thated that these would be added before release. If you contact support they say that these features are present, but will give you advice like "to achieve a resolution lower than you display resolution you need to lower your system resolution (instead of lowering full screen resolution in the game).
i was pretty interested in this game as i love the hunter but god its so horrible. low graphics map compared to the hunter, confusing gameplay, really annoying shopkeeper that would never shut up and just poor horrible UI. listen to the recent reviews and dont bother buying it. i had really high hopes but man its such a let down.
Corporate shut it down. Thanks Karen.
Let’s get this straight: the open world is breathtaking, until you zoom in and realize the premium textures are about as refined as a plywood cutout. Up close, everything looks blocky and crude, like the devs stopped caring after the first few feet of detail. Congrats, you’ve made a big, beautiful world that looks like a low-res screensaver. If you were hoping for a hardcore sim that respects actual angling nuance, you’re in for a disappointingly shallow experience. Fishing mechanics are simplified into float this, strike that, reel until it stops; not exactly the art of the catch. The Angler is less a triumphant catch and more a sad fish flopping on the riverbank; trying, but missing the mark.

This game was obviously NOT made by fishers. I hate not having a free camera. The way the camera takes over when doing twitch or jigging is obnoxious. Lack of free camera while fishing makes me loose interest in the game right away. Did you guys make this game for the player or are the players there for your sake?!? Learn from Fishing planet and Russian fishing 4! First assignment of a programming dev. Learn whats already out there and works well, and only then start to make your own system. But make it as good or better. Not the other way around. Also when casting out my lure I don't see any splash. I have no idea where it landed. So how am I fishing if I have no control? I just have to trust that its out there somewhere!?! Lol... This game was like made for the blind and handicapped. Even Roblox games have better fishing mechanics than this game! Stay away from this crap if you like fishing. Uninstalled already!
one of the most disappointing experiences ever, The free fishing games are better than this hot garbage
Call of the Wild: The Angler™ is an ambitious attempt to blend the serene pastime of fishing with the immersive, open-world exploration style familiar to fans of hunting sims. Developed by Expansive Worlds, known for their work on theHunter: Call of the Wild, this fishing-focused counterpart aims to deliver both a relaxing and rewarding angling experience set against the backdrop of sprawling natural environments. It’s a game that tries to be both a detailed fishing simulator and a wide-open outdoor adventure, and while it achieves a lot in terms of atmosphere and scale, it occasionally struggles to find perfect balance between realism and accessibility. At its core, The Angler is a fishing game that invites you to explore large, beautifully rendered environments—from tranquil mountain lakes to winding rivers and scenic woodland trails. You can hike, drive, or even take boats across the map to find the best fishing spots, giving the game an exploration angle that feels almost as important as the fishing itself. This sense of freedom and immersion is one of the game’s greatest strengths. Unlike many static fishing games, The Angler encourages movement, discovery, and experimentation, which makes the act of fishing feel like part of a broader outdoor experience rather than a confined minigame. The actual fishing mechanics are a mix of simulation and accessibility. Casting, reeling, and battling fish all require timing and technique, but they’re not overly complicated, making the game approachable to newcomers without alienating more seasoned anglers. Rods, reels, and bait types are customizable and cater to different fish species, giving the game a satisfying layer of depth. Catching a rare or particularly large fish after stalking the right location or experimenting with bait feels genuinely rewarding. That said, the physics and fish behavior sometimes feel inconsistent, with odd moments where fish animation or line tension doesn’t behave quite as expected. These hiccups can pull you out of the immersion, though they are more technical annoyances than game-breaking flaws. One of the more notable aspects of Call of the Wild: The Angler is its multiplayer functionality. You can fish alongside friends or strangers in a shared world, which adds a social element that few fishing games offer. Cooperative play doesn’t fundamentally change the core mechanics, but it allows for casual, relaxing sessions where you can chat, explore, and compete to catch the biggest fish. The game supports drop-in/drop-out play, and the world feels alive when others are around, especially when you all stumble upon a hot fishing spot or rare species. Visually, the game shines with lush natural environments and dynamic lighting that shifts with the time of day. Watching the sun rise over a misty lake or paddling through calm waters at sunset creates a sense of peace and immersion that’s hard to match. The sound design further enhances this atmosphere, with ambient bird calls, gentle wind, and splashing water pulling you deeper into the experience. The game truly captures the meditative quality of being outdoors, and it’s easy to lose hours simply wandering and casting lines—even without a clear objective. That said, the game launched with a few technical shortcomings. Early versions of The Angler were criticized for bugs, performance issues, and limited content variety. While the developers have since released several updates and patches to improve stability and add features, some of those initial rough edges still linger. The user interface, while functional, can feel clunky at times, especially when managing gear or tracking objectives. Additionally, progression can feel slow or unbalanced in spots, particularly when it comes to unlocking new gear or traveling long distances without fast travel conveniences. In conclusion, Call of the Wild: The Angler™ delivers a unique and surprisingly expansive fishing experience that combines thoughtful mechanics with a stunning open world. It offers both the depth of a fishing simulator and the beauty of an outdoor adventure game, making it a great option for those seeking a more relaxed and scenic gaming experience. While it’s not without its flaws—particularly in technical areas—the overall package is compelling and continues to improve with developer support. For players who enjoy tranquil exploration and the satisfaction of landing the perfect catch, The Angler provides a satisfying and memorable digital escape into the wild. Rating: 7/10
