I love the artistic style of the game, the atmosphere it builds through the dark, and more serious toned, animated fantasy film style, very much in the same aspects of stuff like Beauty and the Beast, or any classic Disney film. The gameplay itself if a huge mixed bag, and is kind of all over the place, but that's not normally a problem for me, it's the pacing of it all. One second you are solving a puzzle involving electricity, then you are trying to get through small corridors whilst trying to stay away from an entity that is terribly animated, popping out of thin air at random moments, making a puzzle that could have been fun, a slog to keep repeating. The cherry on top is the random dance session with mini game included, creating very convoluted segments, and pretty bad pacing. Audio is completely shot in some areas, like before the Tar battle, it sounded like they phoned in their lines, dipping below the quality of what I already witnessed, and dialogue being cut off short. Then there are the game breaking bugs... sometimes can't interact with anything, having to reboot the game, loading screens that never load the game, and the camera not allowing you to even see what you're doing in important moments because it decided something else was more important. I took time away from this game to see if any of this was truly fixed, and despite all the patches and improvements, these issues are still here. I will probably continue the game for the story because so far it's stellar, but wow, I really can't recommend the game in this state. You're better off watching a let's play or walkthrough on Youtube since this can easily be digested as a movie.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Aug 2 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Obviously this game is beautiful and honestly I like a lot of this game. I like the bell mechanic in the first encounter attracts the monster, but then later the player has to listen for the bell to know where the monster. It was a really cool reuse of a mechanic, props to the game developers. I think there's a lot of great things, however, the chapter with "owl monster" was tedious going back and forth with the clock was rough. The battle sequences are meh, very bland. Overall it's a good game though.
6/10 Would benefit from more QA time and tighter narrative focus. It takes interesting topics, but too many of them and spreads itself too thin. Has issues with introducing mechanics and again, lacks focus - it has some combat, some riddles but nothing feels polished enough. The story delivers in the end, and I very much like stylistic approach to graphics. Had fairly good time with the game.

Progress: ch5 Thoughts: 1) The controls are janky despite using the recommended controller 2) The game randomly auto-shuts down in the middle of gameplay 3) Character movement is frustratingly slow, even when running 4) The gameplay is painfully repetitive 5) (Opinion time) The story is boring, I couldn't care less what happens Final Thoughts: I'm disappointed but at least I purchased it on sale so it's not a total sunk cost. I won't be coming back to this one.
