Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 10 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's important to note two things. This game doesn't feel like Yume Nikki, which is far from being a bad thing. YumeNikki -Dream Diary- feels like a game of its own, different. Taking clear reference, ideas and concepts from the original Yume Nikki and showing us its own interpretation and perspective. If you play this game thinking its a remaster, you will be disappointed, hence the multiple bad reviews. With both things in mind, if you liked the previous, you will enjoy this one.
the game is fine, but it doesn't -feel- like yume nikki, and while this can absolutely be a good thing, it's instead, for all the wrong reasons. before buying do note that: 1, theres multiple non-gamebreaking bugs, that mildy ruin the atmosphere and create inconveniences 2. there are some 3d platformer aspects (block world), and its not fun to play 3. only seven doors in the nexus, compared to orignal twelve 4. it looks and feels like any generic unity game - I wouldn't spend 15 dollars on this if I was looking for a good yume nikki styled game, you're better off playing 2kki (website run & free) rather than a poorly made 3d sequel

I want to say this game is good. I really, really do. For a very long time, since my early childhood, I've been a big fan of Yume Nikki, and I am greatly attached to it's design philosophy. Knowing this, I wanted to play Dream Diary with an open mind. This game is not Yume Nikki, it isn't even close. The good part it isn't trying to be. Unfortunately, that might be the only good part of the game. It's.. very limited. The camera is fixed, the horror is forced and cheap and they forgot what made Yume Nikki truly scary, I think. You're better off playing a Yume Nikki fangame or an actually good Japanese horror. It's worth giving a try.. but you'll end up refunding it. Other reviews cover this better, it just isn't a good Yume Nikki interpretation, nor a good game.
I love Madotsuki
The most glaring issue about this adaptation is that it completely misses the point on what made the original Yume Nikki so great. Yume Nikki was a game about getting lost and exploring a seemingly endless world. Dream Diary nixes the exploration factor by reducing the gameplay to a linear side-scroll half the time, and eliminates the "seemingly endlessness" by limiting the nexus to about 6 accessible doors with very few connections. The gameplay is also absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It's often too dark to tell where you can go, and the game does an absolutely horrid job at guiding you on what you need to do. It uses point and click logic most of the time (in a bad way) where you can interact with something and use an item, but good luck figuring out what item and where you're supposed to get it. Not to mention, it sure was a choice having Block World be relegated to 3D jumping and moving platform puzzle where you have no control of the camera. This wouldn't be the absolute worst if it weren't for the fact that you're supposed to be actively looking for and finding Mafurakos throughout the level, which is a NIGHTMARE when you have no control of the camera. I've tried over and over again to play through this game and find something I like about it. The concept art is neat. That's about it.
This game is very weird to me, not weird in the way the original Yume Nikki is... but weird in the fact that it exists. The idea of a 3D Yume Nikki game is really cool but this game just ISN'T Yume Nikki. Yeah it has Madotsuki, effects, some of the same locations, and the same concept, but the execution is completely different. The original Yume Nikki felt much more mysterious. More open. And overall not focused on horror or anything like that, even if some places or things were eerie or even scary. But this kinda just throws away the subtlety and leans more into basic horror game stuff aswell as being more linear, with added puzzles. There are positives I will give it that. For example being able to see certain areas from the original game in a 3D space is neat, the OST is solid, and the concept art is pretty cool looking. But if you are looking for something similar to the original Yume Nikki game I would just play one of the many fangames out there like Yume 2kki or check out the YNO project. This game isn't terrible but it also isn't great. Its just ok.
It's actually not a bad game. It's really fun to find all collectibles, explore the areas and solve the puzzles. I love the yume nikki world and this game offers a different way to explore it.
what if yume nikki was unravelled, but there was no kinetic gameplay and it was only 2.5d half of the time? what if all the worlds were mixed together with no thought for the vibes? what if surrealism as we know it was only surface-level, and random objects were made into enemies with no real thought into it beyond "yeah, thats creepy, lets do it"? with all that rambling, let's take care not to forget the complete lack of accessibility settings, zero ability to rebind anything on keyboard or controller, and unfinished controller support that completely lacks the "wake up" button necessary to access the manual save or return to the nexus without an effect i dont even know is in the game or not this game is a bad ynfg and it's not great as a game by itself, either. save your money, or buy it to punish yourself for liking a free videogame.
