this isnt a good game

Disappointingly, I cannot recommend this title. I suggest you play Bus Simulator 21 instead. As were many others, I was so excited when this title was announced and anxiously awaited release. Unfortunately, the game is simply lacking – in everything. Even with 6 years between titles, I wasn’t expecting a complete remake, but rather a much more polished, immersive continuation of BS’21. What we received actually feels like a downgrade. It is painfully apparent that this title was rushed – thrown together and pushed out as soon as possible. It is like visiting a fine arts museum only to encounter paintings from preschoolers. Addressing the elephant in the room first: Yes, there are a ton of bugs. But I do see the studio actively working to fix as many bugs as they can as quickly as they can, so I tip my hat to them in that regard. The problem is it simply should never have been released in this state to begin with. Period. Honestly though, the bugs are not what is making the game bad – because even if you look past all the bugs, the game at its core is just not that great. The game world is much crisper thanks to Unreal Engine – what is there is clearly in high definition (how nice depends on your setup/settings, of course). But I find the world to be... honestly… depressing. Even choosing the cinematic color mode which promises a more vibrant, saturated visual, the world looks very drab… very basic and boring. The world should be much more developed than it is. BS’21 gave us 2 entire maps – decently sized maps, I might add. BS’27 gives us 1 map – no bigger and no more detailed than before. I also feel as though the buses are modeled and rendered more poorly than in BS’21. Many of the buses from the predecessor make a return appearance, which I am fine with, except I found myself not enjoying the visuals of what used to be my favorite buses in this newest edition. Other visual oddities make the game less enjoyable – for example, if you enjoy using mouse steering, even though the game gives you a key bind to activate freely looking around, it does not work – there is no way to look around if you opt to use mouse steering. What bothers me the most are the little things. The little extras and the little customizations that really brought the game to life and allowed you to make the game your own. Just like in BS’21, there is a railroad crossing and train tracks. Except this time around, the crossing does not work, and no trains traverse the rails. How exciting. Think you are going to give all your buses unique names? Think again. Excited about new bus customizations? Don’t be. There are around 5 new wraps – the other dozen or so are regurgitated from BS’21. I guess all our buses are supposed to look like vintage throwbacks? There are an extremely limited number of decals and in BS’27 you cannot move or resize them – you either place them in predetermined locations or not at all. See an AI bus moving along the map? Click on it for all the details! Except you can’t. Joining an AI bus to ride along or take it over is next to impossible. Not only the map, but the entire UI is a complete disaster. Many of the options you had in BS’21 are simply not there. Information is even harder to find and understand. Hardly anything is explained to you. Creating bus routes is a completely random guessing game – there is no strategy as the route balancing game mechanic from BS’21 is gone. The scores you receive from driving a bus route are not straightforwardly understood. You have little control over many so-called game mechanics like your profitability (continue to blindly fiddle with your bus routes, I suppose), company coverage (it takes into account the entire map – even the areas you cannot access yet – of course your score will be low), and your reputation (based on customer reviews, which can be unpredictable and odd). I will give credit where credit is due. My biggest pet peeve from BS’21 has been (mostly) resolved. Previously, if you got close to where a bus was supposed to be on the map, it would fall out of the sky, an AI driver would have to board, start the bus up, do everything else to get it ready for action, and finally…eventually, start driving. Now, when approaching a location where another bus is supposed to be located, it is already there! Of course, the bus is clearly turned off and stationary, but it does get going a lot quicker than before. I will take the win! Not to be all negative, the game does contain positive vibes as well. On its most basic level, it is a “bus simulator” and I do find myself enjoying hoping in the driver’s seat to run routes. I plan to continue to invest a little time in playing and progressing through the story, especially seeing as I have already made the purchase. Thanks for your time and happy gaming!
Bus Simulator 27 I really want to love this game, and truthfully, deep down I actually do like it. The map is huge, the sheer variety of licensed buses is brilliant, and when you’re cruising along in a proper rhythm, the core driving feel is decent. But let’s be completely honest: right now, it has got a hell of a long way to go. The bus physics themselves are just okay—passable, but nowhere near where they should be for a modern simulator. A massive tell is driving over railway tracks or road joins; you glide straight over them as smooth as glass. There’s not a single jolt, thud, or bump through the chassis or steering, which just instantly pulls you out of the experience. Visually and technically, it’s a bit of a mess straight out of the box. Out in the open world, the pop-in is impossible to ignore. You’ve got traffic popping into existence just down the road, patches of grass and road foliage visibly rendering in as you drive towards them, and the default image has this weird, blurry temporal smear that ruins what should be a sharp picture unless you spend time wrestling with graphics menus and config files. Taking a look around the community, it’s clear I’m far from the only one noticing this. Other drivers are reporting the exact same frustrations: Traffic AI that behaves completely erratically—suddenly locking up at clear intersections, cutting across lanes without warning, and then the game penalising you with a cash fine when an NPC shunts your bus. Articulated buses feeling floaty or glitching out over steep inclines. Heavy performance stutters and weirdly buggy rain effects on the windscreen that make seeing anything at night an absolute chore. Disappointment over missing quality-of-life bits from older games, like proper interactive free-roaming around depots or waiting for timetables at bus stops. The bones of a genuinely brilliant bus simulator are in here. The sound design, the long-distance coach routes, and the fleet depth show that the developers have great ambitions for it. But right now, it feels far more like an early-access work-in-progress than a finished, polished release. Is it worth buying right now? Not really. Give it a few months, wait for the developers to patch the dodgy AI, sort out the rendering pop-in, and tighten up the road physics before spending your hard-earned cash on it
Pros: - A big map - Plenty of buses to drive - Decent bus models Cons: - Rubbish AI traffic - Rubbish rule judgements - Rubbish localization - Rubbish optimization The game is so buggy and it ruins every single pro. You do not expect a vechicle simulation game where AI cars can fly in the sky or disappear right in front of you for no reasons. It seems Simteract and Astragon do not understand what QA means. Right now, the game is more of a Bug Simulator, rather than a Bus Simulator. Would've recommeded it if they can fix the bugs but there are tons of them.

Honestly this is such a disappointment after playing bs18 and bs21... A lot of the key features that made bs21 great have not been added here. The driving mechanism is way worse. The long busses are horrible to drive and the amount of bugs is insane. I was really excited for the release but it has been nothing but a let down so far. They simplified the game way too much. Being able to play free roam is something I expected as a standard since bs21. The only pro's so far are the updated graphics and variety of busses. It feels like the game went back in time gameplay wise.. Personally I think this game already needs a massive overhaul.
