Perfect? No. But charming and challenging? Absolutely. I'd been looking forward to this game since first reading about its development, and bought it on release day. I found several aspects frustrating such as the lack of mouse control, which was fixed almost immediately. Despite the cartoon-ish style, this is not a mindless sandbox toy; you have to think and plan and figure out puzzle-like situations. I felt right chuffed to achieve certain objectives, which reminds me that non-Brits may find some of the terms confusing. If you're tired of the same old games (shooters, zombies, oh how original... not), then you may enjoy hanging out with some happy -- or crabby! -- buildings.
Positives:
- The game has great story telling, who said buildings don't have feelings? - The game implemented negative and positive effects in a good way, which were logical yet funny statements. Like rented rooms don't want to live too close to factory chimneys. - The buildings were made as a resemblance of people, in which Blackstaff did an awesome job. You can really see the character buildings having eyes, mouths or even mustaches. - The game is very refreshing in its category, it's a very different city management simulator. - The missions are very rewarding since you earn brick currency you have to use for building newer buildings. - The game really has you figuring out where to place your buildings, since you want to please them all.
What can be done better:
- Nothing to add on what to make the game better.
Issues I had:
- There wasn't a ability to remap the buttons, which was quite messy on keyboard, I had to look down multiple times since I was not familiar with spacebar as a confirmation button and Q as a back button.
Accessibility:
- There are no accessibility settings in the game. Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 2 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game is really cute, but I definitely feel like a dummy while playing it. Every other minute I'm shouting "WHY ARE YOU CLOSING??? WHAT DID I DO???" I can never figure out the lack of which requirements make a building close and which ones they are happy to sit and deal without. I am sad I played for 3 hours and didn't manage any achievements at all. I'll probably play more but I might read some tips first. I assume people who are better at city management games will do a lot better than I am. I'm just glad they give you chances to recover after you bungle everything up.
I came into this game hoping that it was an anthropromorphic, side-scrolling city-builder. I loved the graphical style and the idea of the buildings being characters. Instead, I got a slightly obtuse puzzle game. I got stuck at one point because I couldn't continue to upgrade buildings because I needed a resource, but how to get that resource was completely obscured. I think even if you go in looking just for a city-themed puzzle game, you may still find this one frustrating. Not for me.
Really loved this game! The controls can be a bit muddled at the start, but once you get them, what unfolds is a beautifully quaint puzzle game. Looking forward to playing even more!
I had played this at PAX yeeeears ago and was eager to see it come out. It's definitely cute and has a lot of charm, but unfortunately aesthetics does not a good game make. After two levels, I'm starting to realize that the gameplay basically boils down to "move buildings around to optimize upgrades." That's it. I mean, I only played through the first two levels, but I haven't seen anything to suggest that the game is going to get much more complex than that, which wouldn't be so bad if moving buildings was...somehow better. It's not bad but it's not great. This game feels like it should be fun, but it is not and I can't quite put my finger on why... But hey, if you like placement management sims maybe this is up your alley, but sadly I can't recommend this game to most folks out there as a fun experience. Cute? Yes. Fun? Meh...
This is an interesting concept and I want to love this game and play it but so far keep running into technical issues while running it. I would only buy this at the really good sale price point. I got it 80% thankfully so I'm not upset but advise anyone curious not to spend full price. Concerned the game is "dead" as no updates since 2021 and still unanswered forum posts where others run into game breaking issues. Besides that word of caution, the concept is really cute, nice art and music isn't terrible either. The sound effects are nice. I'm intrigued and want to play it and figure it out so will keep poking around at it for now. Good luck!
Here's the thing: I have no issue with city builders or sim management titles. Especially if they put an interesting twist to separate themselves from the pack. That's exactly the case for Buildings Have Feelings Too! It's quirky approach to buildings creating buildings to coexist with OTHER buildings is certainly a fresh idea. Unfortunately, confiding it to a 2D plane whale constantly retracing your steps in order to maintain a set of conditions is mentally taxing. I understand what they were going for here, and I very much applaud it, but I couldn't keep up with want it wanted me to do. One small move of a building to another part of town or developing a new building between other buildings would sometimes create chaos that would demolish everything I was working toward. This led to more frustration than fun on my end. Sim and management buffs need only apply, as the casual appearance will be a bit misleading to any newcomers in the genre.
I really liked the idea of this game but sadly it wasn't enough. The controls are clunky, the mechanics are overly complicated and badly explained, and you can fail a level (spending all resources) without a way to repeat just that one level. When I played on release, I was stuck in a level because the game let me advance to the next one without having the required building unlocked. I talked to the developer and they said that they fixed it. Still, I'm disappointed.
I very much like the concept of this game. I did not like the initial implementation of it : achievements did not seem to work and in the PC version you got stuck at some point where fulfilling the quest does not let you continue. They did fix these issues in hotfix #2, so changing my recommendation to 'thumbs up' because of this.
