Devs are still cooking, but game is a fantastic insurgent power trip with sneaking around with improvised pistols to military rifles to light armour. Already plenty of guns and vehicle ordnance with the extraction gameplay loop. Finished current current content in about 15 hours, with heavier kit and a lot more maps I expect to spend dozens more Runs perfectly on handheld with a couple of extra binds for inventory shortcuts - shift, alt. Doesn't need trackpad, just controller works great. Auto aim lock helps a lot
There are some issues with the AI logic in the game. When you are in a crouched shooting state, the AI enemies will quickly move away from you, but when you cancel that state, they will rush right back to sneak attack you. Is this correct? It's weird. ——————————Fixed———————————— Btw. we need cloud save functionality.

A little barebones and rough around the edges, but addictive as hell. Can't wait for more content.
Like the original, this game has an incredible atmosphere. Some of the strongest art direction you'll ever see in a video game. Amazing soundtrack. The prose is sharp and very often funny, and the little bits of dialogue and item descriptions leave you wanting more. Mechanically, the combat is tense, challenging, and forces you to think about the tools you have and how best to use them. It's extremely creative with its vehicle and weapon sandbox, and the player is forced to constantly make choices about both short term survival and long term strategy and arsenal building. I dumped probably 30-40 hours into the demo and I'm on my way to doing the same here. There is really nothing like Brigador in terms of its writing, tone, and art direction. As with the original, it scratches an itch that no other game does. What's there of the story is pretty limited in terms of content right now, but it makes up for it with an expansive and open ended sandbox mode. Even the demo would be worth the asking price. Support the artists.
Basically Hotline Miami meets Brigador.
This game is in early access. Bear in mind that it does not contain the full breadth and depth of mechanics and content that it one day will. An additional caveat; this is not Brigador, it does not play or feel exactly like Brigador. If you liked Brigador for its bleak but resplendently written world, this will push those buttons perfectly, but it is fundamentally a different experience. All that said, this game is brilliant, and I am thoroughly enjoying my departure from playing as a despicable war criminal in a 400-Ton death machine trampling civilians into a fine paste I like to call "collateral damage", to becoming a sneaky bastard terrorist slotting cops and criminals alike in chokepoint ambushes, stealing all their ♥♥♥♥, planting bombs in their cars and generally being an extremely lethal nuisance. Brigador Killers is great, and it is only going to get better.
Only giving this a thumbs up because its a game the devs will likely be giving it consistent updates not abandoning the game outright. Right now it's rough and I concur with other reviewers that it was better in the demo. Making a sequel to a mech game and not releasing with any controllable mechs? Not even the crappy little corvid one? Plus much less content than what should have been delivered on the campaign front, again compared to the demo.
This is how early access should be done. Great devs, shaping the bones of a great game to sink time into much like the first.
Throwing rocks at people has never felt this narratively rich. The writing and worldbuilding is just as good, if not better, than the first game. The slow and steady increase in your capabilities are matched with rising stakes that complement one another quite well. Keep in mind this game is very much in Early Access, there's some clunky stuff. In spite of that, the foundation is solid. I think a lot of the negative reviews didn't bother to pay attention to what this game was about, unfortunately - but to be fair, the demo could have been more succinct about what to expect long term. Oh and read or listen to the Brigador Killers book. You will enjoy this game even more because of it.
