Reviews
Most of the negative reviews just don't get it man, game is so juiced as an insurgency sim
For all the negative reviews stating theirs not enough content.... it's Early Access... I just don't get why this simple concept is so hard to understand? Yes, the game is light on content and normally I think a EA release should have more. But, the proof of concept is there, game runs well so I don't mind supporting this game until then. Actual thoughts on the game: Game is great and really fun! Reminds me of when I played fallout 1 for the first time way back in the day. Music is top notch! I can see why they emphasized it at the launch. Art style is out of this world, I just can't imagine the amount of work and effort it took to make each building/set piece and render it, then make it adjust to lighting per time of day and THEN BLOW IT UP.. holy cow! I do enjoy that the game doesn't hold your hand in regards to enemies and tactics. I had a mech fly up and just smoked me with its mounted heavy shotgun. Learned to scout ahead after that. There's some quality of life issues so far, like crafting will try and take up all your material so you need to click on the slider to get between zero and 2 and was very difficult to find the exact spot to find 1. None of the guns have descriptions or damage statistics. Vehicles will have titles called loaders/upgunners attached, had to build one to figure out what loaders even meant. Overall small issues and I am sure they will get addressed as the game develops.

Story is good i like this direction better the demo was much more a game with no point, it's just boring i do not want to play some forever game, i want a game that hooks you in with its story and world and gamplay progression then when all has been said and done roll out the credits unlock sand box mode verrrry simple lots of bull getting said that the demo is better, this BABY just need a bit more time. Like when half sword got early acces no different people where like AGGG ThE DoMo Is Bttert I CaNT CopE WiTH ChaNGE. you's must be f*%k&ing R%t@#$d to not realise that, dont buy it if you dont want to wait for a few updates but then the game might never get finished if you like the game show it some support ready or not wasn't fantastic in early access it was another bare bones killing sim now its a top game becuase it got funded by the people who paid for early acces . Dear Stellar Jockeys Its crunch time these missions need to be longer and maps need to be bigger, the game is awsome feels great to play ui needs complete rework it looks very sh*t also there is no way to sellect how much ammo you want to take this is the worst part about the game makes it feel very amateur. And get split screen split screen is awsome split screen would make this game worth every cent.
This game really disappointed me. 这个游戏让我很失望
Play the demo first. If you like that, and are happy with less vehicle (well, mech/powersuit) based combat until EA progresses, the game is absolutely worth it. Its of course rough around the edges, but its still a very enjoyable experience if its your type of game, and presents some actual challenges compared to the demo. Do note it only took about 7 hours (could be less if your good) to pretty much complete all content in the current build, so don't expect a TON to do right now. The demo is also arguably better to sandbox play in after beating the missions as you have the mog/fork available. just give it a shot you probably wont regret it. MAR NOSSO BEARS WITNESS
This game is beyond fantastic, I can't believe people are apparently getting filtered by the first boss. Just shoot him in the back. It's an extraction game, get in, get out, bring the right gear and equipment, take what you need and pick your battles. The shotguns are incredible, the amount of lore for every item in the game is incredible. Rocks, *Rocks* have a good chunk of lore I've never seen in a game before, it goes to show the sheer passion and dedication the developers have to not just making good gameplay but also a good story. Just simply fantastic.
I feel that my time could be better spend playing the game than coming up with a review to write. I feel like this game was made for me in particular, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Another amazing entry from Stellar Jockeys. The story (so far) is gripping and much more intertwined with the action and player character. I was very impressed with the early game which I found to be extremely immersive, and had a wonderful sense of weirdness and belonging. It's hard to describe but it brings back that sense of magic that so few games do. There are two massive difficulty spikes however, specifically
Silver Leaf Estates
, and
Vinton Villas
. Feels like the player is way too short on vehicles and firepower to really take on these challenges at that point in the campaign. With over 20 deaths to finally clear each I spent more time grinding back equipment and vehicles than I have progressing through the game. Outside of the occasionally difficulty spike the game is very fair. Gunplay is tight, audio is top notch, all with a banging soundtrack to boot. Can't wait to see more!
I remember this conversation I’ve had with my friend over the first game. I’ve argued that Brigador is one of the more credible depictions of a modern-day urban warfare, starting my reasoning with the obvious fact how the only consequence of mowing down unarmed civilian who also displays every possible sign of peaceful surrender (go ahead, check your Yellowcoat entry in the lore section of the first game) would be a marginally insignificant bonus to the mercenary’s paycheck. My friend responded with how Brigador attempts to shock with excessive violence because there clearly are no societies degenerate enough for their government officials to murder children or cannibalize people just for the pleasure of doing so. It may be a somewhat bitter and slightly grim victory on my part, but I believe his argument has not stood the test of time particularly well. Speaking of corrupt governments, in Killers we don’t start as a well-paid and heavily equipped military force of an inhumane regime. This time around, we play as a random guy with his extremely predictable story of radicalization into killing the protagonists of the first game. It goes along the lines of his only friend being gravely wounded by the police yada yada hospital declining help because capitalism more yada yada – what matters is, instead of a mobile armor, we start with gun and a packet of chips (after the four, rather basic tutorial missions) and build from there. Consequently, Killers starts out much slower and is at times more challenging than the first game.
Non-military targets
The good news is – murdering people (in game) is still extremely enjoyable and due to the protagonist’s predicament, more considerate this time around. On foot, Brigador feels more like a mixture of an extremely basic Hitman or a slower Hotline Miami (also, initial missions gave me this very tangible Fallout 1 nostalgia, for some reason) with loot (for example, every corpse can be searched for equipment and ammo) and a bit of soulslike (due to the fact that protagonist forfeits his entire equipment and is sent back to the hub on being killed). Obviously, save remains disabled during the missions . The soundtrack is still a 12 out of 10 experience. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3787675356
Insurgent Cookbook ( v 0.6)
Despite the long development time, Killers is visibly an early access and as such there are many things missing or requiring improvement. For example, the enemy AI is - especially during the stealth phase – extremely basic, remains completely oblivious to the protagonist running just a few steps behind their backs and responds in a predictable way. The inventory is far from intuitive. There are some features that are not explained properly, made unnecessarily complex or not present in the current build. Dragging and dropping objects between the containers and inventory feels erratic. Additionally, some of the items are currently absolutely comical placeholders, depicted as a vague grey blob more or less resembling the shape of the intended object with its name scrawled on top with red marker. Finally, some of the key bindings feel peculiar before the player gets used to them. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3787676473 The graphics are impressive and detailed – especially the deliberately uncanny character portraits – but the additional levels of zoom not present in the first game result in sprite edges looking unpleasantly jaggy in a close-up. There’s also some rather weird shadow popping in on the edges of the screen once the protagonist gets out to the surface. Finally, there is a certain degree of randomization to the missions. The same level can be replayed (and therefore farmed) but the enemies that appear there will be different or the exit location may change. This mechanism is also flawed since during my first run, one of the initial missions spawned enemies equipped with force fields that rendered my starting pistol completely useless but after I respawned, said enemies were replaced with the default gang members, turning exactly the same task from nigh-impossible into a walk in a park. On the side note, if you find the initial chapters challenging, try melee. The enemies do not react to the protagonist running right behind their backs, get stunned for more than a second when hit and the nearby opponents do not get alerted until the shots are fired. Enemies can easily be kited away from their posts as well.
See you Space Jockey
All things considered, in the current state, Killers is not only functional but also enjoyable. There is enough content for a complete single player campaign. Still, unless you are a die-hard Brigador fan, there is little reason to buy it at present. As mentioned above, there is a lot of room for improvement and therefore, Killers will offer much more entertainment in future. There are also things that will probably not change, like the problematic scaling of 2D sprites, or the fact that due to its nature, Killers remains a considerably different game from the original. Yes, indeed, I am giving this game a positive review and recommend not buying it while at the same time I happily splatter people all over the Nobre’s pavements . Genocide is complicated. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3787676062
