About

Protect yourself as long as you must in Box of Broken Nails - a surreal horror experience.
Use your hammer and nails to board up an unknown door with something breaking out. Find resources around your house and nail down planks in time. Don't let it open. No matter what.

There is only this one note, it reads:
"Since I started living here alone, the nights felt endless. I barely remember if my halls have been this way before. Lately I hear the sounds of my work from behind the walls. The plates are shattering over and over again. I’m just making things up again, am I not? There was never anything wrong with...
And even if, it changes nothing — what matters is that I simply must continue and make, make…
...Make it go away."
No text notes, no audio logs. The story unfolds through the gameplay itself and what it evokes in you.
A stressful game loop that changes over time.
An unexpected turn of events.
Only one outcome.
Box of Broken Nails contains flashing lights, strong camera shaking, and intentional visual distortion effects. Please use caution if you are affected by flashing or rapidly moving visuals.

Good and short horror game that had some good tension as well. Overall I liked the story of destroying your house to save yourself from an imaginary threat and the game itself is pretty straight forward so I would recommend https://youtu.be/2UKKj_uBIzg
A superb example of a niche indie horror, made by just two people. It pulls you in with its great atmosphere and unique style. Highly recommended.

I never really liked indie or horror games, but this masterpiece shattered my strong stereotypes about both genres. Intriguing setting, a crushing/oppressive atmosphere that manages to generate fear without relying on primitive jump scares from cheap game design. A really compelling product that I highly recommend everyone check out. 10 broken nails out of 10.
For five dollars this is a wonderful little horror experience. It only really lasts around 30 minutes, but it is surprisingly scary and unnerving. I was franticly running around the whole time afraid of what would happen if I did not board up the door. I enjoy the lack of notes or any sort of dialogue. It allows you to draw your own conclusions of the story and themes present. Although, it is somewhat hard to parse what exactly those themes may be. I played through twice just to see if there was more to the game, but it really seems there is only one outcome as the game states. Though I still get the feeling I'm missing something, I think that may be the point. I would absolutely recommend playing this game if you can spare the $5 and half an hour of your time. Well worth it!
Eng: It's an interesting concept, and although I don't play horror games, I liked the atmosphere and graphics. It's an indie game, and while there are some bugs, they're not critical. Overall, the game is fun and can be completed in an evening
Fantastic, deeply compelling little horror game, with some great tricks, scares, and a sense of panic unlike what I've felt from a horror game since FNaF, and yes, that's a compliment. I also have questions, many of them. For a half-hour game to slide a rabbit hole that big underneath me is a work of elegant genius by the devs, I think. Not just what it all means, but how it all connects. I'd voice more questions but I don't want to risk spoiling anything; I'd rather be safe than sorry. c;

Game seems a little buggy or maybe suffers from a lack of clear signposting OR and this is just as equally if not more so possible, I am an idiot. Fantastic atmosphere otherwise! Edit: Went back for a second try and it was bugged last time. I have now finished the game and think that it's still pretty great with excellent horror vibes.
Box of Broken Nails is a phenomenal game that does a amazing job at pulling you in and keeping you captivated. I originally thought that the ending you get was the only one and that was it but then i watched Power Paks video about this game and wondered how it could possibly be over an hour long. Little did i know this game has so much more in store if you explore more and obsess over. I frankly did not and never would have discovered half the content if not for that video. Nevertheless, this is an amazing game with a lot of care and love put into it.
