About

Protect yourself as long as you must in Box of Broken Nails - a surreal horror experience.
Use your hammer and nails to board up an unknown door with something breaking out. Find resources around your house and nail down planks in time. Don't let it open. No matter what.

There is only this one note, it reads:
"Since I started living here alone, the nights felt endless. I barely remember if my halls have been this way before. Lately I hear the sounds of my work from behind the walls. The plates are shattering over and over again. I’m just making things up again, am I not? There was never anything wrong with...
And even if, it changes nothing — what matters is that I simply must continue and make, make…
...Make it go away."
No text notes, no audio logs. The story unfolds through the gameplay itself and what it evokes in you.
A stressful game loop that changes over time.
An unexpected turn of events.
Only one outcome.
Box of Broken Nails contains flashing lights, strong camera shaking, and intentional visual distortion effects. Please use caution if you are affected by flashing or rapidly moving visuals.

Very interesting game! It's not long, and it's very linear, but the atmosphere of it is sublime. The tension of destroying your house to save yourself... from your house... it's really fascinating and unique. I have questions left over but it basically makes me want to play it again. EDIT: I HAVE LOST CONTROL OF MY LIFE
Scares the living daylights out of you, then gives you a lot to sit and think about. Definitely only a thirty minute experience and nothing else. :) Here after Power Pak, but before Markiplier.

Pease BE WARNED there are flashing lights + shaking camera effects + general texture/loading distance effects in this game that will send you straight to migraine hell. While being sick for a whole day was unpleasant for me to deal with I'm more worried about what could happen to someone with epilepsy if they picked this game up. There needs to - at minimum- be a photosensitivity warning on the store page and in game. Right now without those this game is unfortunately an active risk to its players. When those are added I'd be happy to change my review to a positive one. Also it would be really, really awesome if there was a mode in game to toggle the effects off so that more people could play this "little" horror gem. If you don't have photosensitivity issues I would still encourage you to check this game out! But if you are recommending it to a friend please warn them beforehand- lets all stay safe and healthy as we nail that door up!
This was a weird little game. I don't really understand the story (too dumb to grasp all that metaphorical and symbolic stuff), but it was very tense. My heart was hammering in my chest. Who knew nailing planks could be so stressful? Also there was a silly meme picture in the oven (I would include a picture but idk if you can add photos to reviews); it's not important but I want people to know it's there and acknowledge its existence.
smoking on that ♥♥♥♥ that made zampano blind
It's a tense little game that has some pretty cool moments throughout it's short timespan. I liekd it (ദ്ദി˙ᗜ˙)
A short horror game with some interesting themes. It was fun! But there's more to it than meets the eye...
Box of broken nails is a game about endlessly nailing a door shut while something tries to break through. Pros + Very stressful by design + Tense scrambling around looking for planks and nails + Experimental in feel and definitely very original Cons - A bit too dark and no proper flashlight I could find - Ending gets a bit experimental which isn't my thing. Overall this is a fun tense, experimental horror that will leave you thinking. Whats on the other side of the door?
