Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It could be a fun game but it's awfully balanced
Frustrating, poorly balanced. Too much back and forth between screens. There's a contract available at the Courthouse. Will it overload my locomotive ? Will I still have the speed to make it ? Got to go back to a previous screen to figure it out. At least early in the game, you can't possibly have enough strength to repel bandits without towing a big caboose, and your locomotive just can't handle it. The save system needs improvement. I'd prefer a save before each departure from each city, with an adjustable number of saves kept.

After 4,5h of playing I can't recommend this game. Even at the "baby" difficulty setting the game is very fast paced and gives you no peace. It is one of those nihilistic calculation games where you need to look if you have enough coal to reach the next city (this one thing can be "auto bought" though, but some cities have high prices for coal,), and you need to check how much your train can tow, and how much each carriage and passenger and their luggage and each cargo you buy weights, but alas if your train autobuys some coal on top of your calculations, prepare to have to leave one carriage to sit on the tracks (with passengers that need to be somewhere *fast*, as everything in this game), or to abandon cargo which also needs to be somewhere, and get you that -20 malus to a city and -2000usd penalty, (because coal cannot be unloaded). If the malus of failure is big enough, like -60, the city won't give your quests or passengers anymore, so you've pretty much lost the campaign there. Also if you're on a quest, you have *very limited* time to get to the destination, so everything needs to be *perfect*. Running two or three quests at a time will usually fail one or more of them if any factor changes. So even when the basic quests have little to no time (even to stop at a city that is directly between start and destination on the same track) to stop, or you will fail the quest, then add to that the campaign quests that are also timed, and will screw up your weight calculations (have to keep abandoning or buying carts, because there is little time to prepare, don't even think about accepting a city demand quest, because there won't be many cities, except some far away one, that will take more time to reach than the quest allows you to return, to be able to buy the demanded resource, which will probably be short on stock, and take all your space (or more than you have), so that you can't buy that coal, or fit all carriages or cargo. The game is indeed very tedious. Also the cargo space in a basic cargo cart is 5, medium 10, etc, so we are "trading" with *VERY FEW* resources and with *SUPER TIGHT* time limits. This game is not a relaxing transport simulation, but has taken the wrong way. I cannot therefore recommend it to anyone. It could have been very good, though, but even the baby difficulty has ridiculous time limits, and if your trip is cut by an event, good luck trying to remember where you were headed and to do what, as all the cities and quests are a mere distant blur in your mind. And remember to have that USA map open, if you don't know where is Cincinnati or Buffalo in relation to each other, or random cities X and Y. Then constantly check the weight limits, the tow ability, the coal, and the time limits. Not to even mention the space that you don't have, and if you buy a bigger wagon, the train can't pull it, and there is not a better train for sale. I bought this for 2 euros, so it's not a loss, but still, I can't recommend it.
I tried to like this game, I really did. I like the general idea, there's a great game under there but it's ruined by the awful balance. On the easiest enemy strength in mid-game my train gets constantly ambushed by the hordes of 20-30 enemies, and the biggest team I can have is 5 including the protagonist. So they just swarm my train from all sides and blow it with explosives. Not fun at all, this game needs serious balance tweaking but obviously it's long past release so I doubt it would ever be changed.
I wanted to like this game and it has a lot going for it, but in the end this is a narrow thumbs down. Reasons: - the autosave and save/load mechanics in this game are actively hostile. If you misjudge a journey and it takes a few hours longer and a mission fails - it will not allow you to load during the trip when you see that's going to happen, it will immediately autosave when you enter the target city, after applying all penalties, and it will override your previous autosave. - the scaling is off. If you don't get a good start, enemies scale to a level where you'll just get raped every attack and you can do nothing about it. - the death spiral games of this genre suffer from is real. You lose, you fail a mission, your reputation tanks, your money drops, resulting in fewer and worse missions, higher costs, etc. hard to recover from - while the music is nice, it is also repetitive and after a few hours it becomes really annoying. That it changes between map and stations while also restarting from the beginning when it does so makes it annoying to a point that I didn't think game music could be. - there's no way to play a campaign without going through the tedious tutorial missions. It's like 10-15 minutes, but on every damn new game you start. This game would've benefited a lot from a bit more polish, a bit more test games, and a bit more listening to feedback.
Combat system is a joke.
I don't understand why this game hasn't become popular. It's very well-crafted in every detail. I've read some negative comments, which are simply untrue. The developers have a great sense of humor. The mechanics work perfectly. It's a shooter combined with trading and management, and there are trains (hi Sheldon). The sound and music are impeccable. The graphics are excellent and pleasing to the eye. The map is large, and the DLC expands it after completing the campaign. The only downside is the unfixed bug in Louisville – don't speed up the time there, or the game will crash. I still come back to it after years because there's nothing better (only just as good). 10/10 I'd love to play the sequel or another game by the same developers!
Frustrating, poorly balanced. Too much back and forth between screens.
Interesting game and yet what the HECK were they thinking with the balance? If you don't play immediately "THE RIGHT WAY(TM)" (that is, you have no actual choice... in a game) you immediately get slammed by timers and economy and scaled to nothing. This doesn't need to be Heroes of Might and Magic with Trains. It needs to be a chill exploration and trading with bandits attacking game. I've played tens upon tens of thousands of hours of games and this one I had to restart multiple times and it's STILL throwing gotchas at me. Supposedly "sandbox mode" isn't as bad. How messed up is that? The CAMPAIGN/STORY is worse than the "sandbox" mode? Then why even have it?
This is one of those games were you wish there's was another system "thumbs up" "thumbs down" . I would give it a 7/10 The premise is nice and the map and models well done. But the gameplay turns repetitive over time. Bandits ambush , indians chases and rebels attacks all feel the same. You don't have enough variety of carriages , locomotives or cargo. to sustain a long game. The game stagnates and you just want to be done with it. Maybe more missions , see some changes on cities the user completes transports the most to give a sensation that theres progress beyond getting you company or allowing the user to buy locomotives hire crew and automate them on predetermin routes ( while player mans one ) could give the a fresh feel on later campaing.
