Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 5.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Decent game, but is definitely a more enjoyable romp if played with friends. I'm seeing some people report bugs/memory leaks, but this game ran basically flawlessly on my mid-end rig. Although I'm marking this review with "recommended," it was very obvious to me as a player completely new to the Borderlands franchise that this game had an identity crisis during development: - The world is aesthetically underdeveloped, with 90% of areas being rocky and gray, or sandy and brownish gray. - Missions are 50% fetch quests, and 50% kill [#] of [blank]. - Despite bragging about the number of available guns, they all function/handle/shoot in the exact same boring manner (Except T.K's Wave - that gun was fun). As such, all possible "play styles" wound down to "just shoot harder." - The narrative couldn't figure out if it wanted to be serious, tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic, or simply goofy. This tone confusion did result in some memorable quotes (CATCH A RIDE!), but for the most part it felt like the narrative did not come anywhere near its full potential. Again, this is a game that ran well for me, and I had fun playing with friends. $30 is a steep for a game that originally came out in 2009, but I did get a good 40 hours out of it. But honestly, if you want to get into Borderlands and don't care about release chronology, just start with 2. All of the identity and world-building issues I listed above are heavily improved upon in Borderlands 2.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Borderlands 1 is just alright. It's really only worth playing if you have a tolerance for playing older games and haven't played Borderlands 2 already, as the sequel does pretty much everything better except for like two things. One, the atmosphere is less "LOL XD RANDOM" and goes for a more gritty space cowboy vibe with the humor being much darker and downplayed. Two, (and this is more of a preference, really) the NPC's don't talk at you incessantly; most of the context for missions is relayed through text blurbs whenever you pick them up. The DLC's kind of make that transition to having an actual story though, and are pretty okay.
Broken. From top too bottom. Widescreen, Fov slider, and mini map (when it works) are nice. Dialog will randomly stop working. The multiplayer doesn't work unless everyone syncs their frame rates. The loot system is all over the place. Also, who needs to kill the final boss for the legendary weapons when you can just get in 5 keys at the golden chest they added. Play the original. Get some mods to fix what you don't like and just play that version. It still works.
Aiming feels wierd, bullets dont seem to hit much and almost feels like input lag.
Wish I could give this a mixed. The PC ports of both 1 and 2 are iffy. Both have memory leak issues, crap net-code (in a co-op focused game, lol) that is prone to crashing. I think if you just want to play through the original looter shooter, a quick campaign run-through solo or with a friend is a good time. That being said, despite having more hours in this (for the sake of achievement cleanup that I have not started on the sequel), I would still say the sequel is much better. I have two main issues, one of which is them introducing new bugs and a unavoidable memory leak and not polishing up the technical state of the PC port with the enhanced edition, and the other is the inability for even a single DLC in this game to not have at least one aspect of it that pisses you off beyond anything the base game could throw at you. Zombie Island has the Brains Questline, Secret Armory has a million miles of road with no fast travel, Robot Revolution has the worst collectible system ever put in a video game ontop of a repeat of the brains questline but with robot parts, and Underdome as a whole stops being fun after 30 minutes, while taking over 10 hours to complete and gives no rewards of value besides a single skill point after the initial arenas, and some achievements after the latter arenas, not even exp. Most of this is optional to an extent if you don't care about achievements, but considering that side content was done well in the base campaign, and even the achievements were reasonable, it does put a bad taste in my mouth how obnoxious the DLC is, and none of it is adjusted in the slightest for this "enhanced" edition. I would say this again, for those who just want to play a good looter shooter, get the second game. There is little reason to play the first one unless you are planning something along the lines of a full series playthrough or are playing it for nolstagias sake. It doesn't seem gearbox want you to play it either considering how rough the pc port is technically.
gud gem
