14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

I have been a lifelong Borderlands fan since the first Borderlands released. I have logged thousands of hours over BL, BL2 and the pre sequel over the years cross platform (Notice I didn't include 3. Thats because it was ass yet still better than this installment). This just didn't feel like Borderlands to me. The combat is more punishing than it has ever been, their is so much visual noise on the screen it's hard to guage exactly what is going on. I have a 2070 super, it plays Cyberpunk2077 on high settings very comfortably with Dog town being an exception. But I can't run this game on anything but low without my PC turning into a nuclear reactor and struggling to stay above 30 FPS. The one thing I can say I liked about my experience with the game was the music. Everything else, visuals, dialogue and combat was ironically just noise. Maybe if you can wait for it to go on a deep deep deeeeep discount, pick it up, but even at half off I felt like I overpaid.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 20: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 316.29/day in the week to Sep 15 → 103.4/day in the week after.
Of the 12 markets with a position on both sides, 5 climbed and 3 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 47/day in the week to Sep 11 → 340.86/day in the week after.
One market had a chart position on both sides of this cut. One sale in one country is an anecdote — read it next to the store-wide figures below.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 41.86/day in the week to Jul 31 → 47.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Incredibly unoptimized
until they stop the egregious mAcro transations and fkn bundle the game tpwhere it doesnt cost 200$+ i refuse to ever touch a product made by gearbox again for the remaining duration of my life. bundle and stop being greedy you lames
Borderlands 4 has moments of solid combat and entertaining loot, but they are buried under poor quest design, poor plotting, poor characters and a remarkable number of bugs. I encountered broken objectives, missing markers, unreliable item effects, awkward carry quests, disappearing map icons, and crashes to name just a few of the problems. I am approximately 50% through the game, and, while I have had crashes and start up issues before, it will now no longer start. Every launch ends on a black screen with the render thread hanging. Today, a year after the game was first released, Borderlands 4 is still too buggy to play reliably. If you are going to buy this game don't do it yet. It is unplayable due to bugs.
Very disappointing, The worst of the series, boring modern AAA slop. The story and characters are just plain awful and totally forgettable. If you like modern day slop this game is for you.
Bought to play on the Steam Deck since it was steam deck verified and I had success with tiny tina's wonderland but settings at the lowest and was not a fun experience.

Bugs everywhere, OP enemies hitting once (with sometimes invisible attacks) and break your 50k shield and drain your life to near dead even on UVH5 (and with damage reductions), enemies spawning from everywhere (and even INSIDE you or drilling out of ground below you), strange physics, enemies lifting off after they die, sponges and more sponges and more sponges spawning at least three times, not to mention the (soft)locks, (side)missions/contracts that kill you unless cheesing it, and more annoying stuff that make even BL3 a masterpiece in comparison. Even some 'normal' enemies take more and deal more damage than a boss. At some random place I got overrun suddenly by
vile
enemies and one of them runs super fast and hits you near dead without a visible attack, but they kept spawning on a spot I don't get WHY even. I rage quit after that (when having 50k+ shield, 30k+ HP). I like a challenge, but this is just beyond fun and only purpose is to make it impossible to win. Glad I bought it on sale, but no overpriced bugged DLC (unless they make they free of charge) for me after this junk that I only finished just to finish it.
I always liked BL. They felt naturally stupid. And still funny and entertaining. Cool way to run over and over and looting better gear while destroying everything, with simple cartoonish graphics. Somehow BL4 lacks everything. I didnt enjoyed, didnt even finished main story. worst bl imo.
like others have said, refunded because the game is so poorly optimized. 45 fps on low/med graphics. Not worth it even on sale. I don't even think I'd play this even if I was gifted for free. Just unable to enjoy the game.
